Asj Johnson chapter 18 . 5/7/2018 Sounds like Jazz is mixing Danny and her parents’ different pieces together in her confession thingy. Some sounds a lot like Danny, while other parts sound a lot like her parents. But not in a super obvious way where anyone would ask her what in the world she’s talking about. Poor Vlad. You make him seem so sympathetic. :P Even when he’s being bitter about Jack’s unnatural creations. But, he’s more powerful as half ghost. I guess him and Danny are kind’a similar, where they might be sad such an accident ever happened, but not actually want to change what they can do. ...I wonder what Danny would look like if he was Vlad’s son... He takes after his dad very closely when it comes to his hair, as was seen when that first try at a ghost portal was tried. I don’t think Vlad and Maddie had kids in that alternate reality, which is kind’a sad. Though, probably good, as erasing that version of reality would’ve erased them as well. I thought there was less time between Maddie showing up and Danny showing up last chapter. At least, I thought it had only been a matter of seconds, or maybe a quick minute or two. (though, looking back at last chapter, it’s kind’a hard to tell how much time had passed) Well, it's been a nice fic. |
Asj Johnson chapter 17 . 5/7/2018 Poor Vlad. But, well, can’t expect Danny to be too happy to see him after what all’s happened between them. No confusion over where Danny was during most of the situation? I thought Maddie thought he was back in the real world ...or maybe I’m forgetting a piece of the fic... what was it Danny had said about why Maddie hadn’t gone back to Danny when she made the wish to? (goes to look) Danny said he might’ve been in transit when she’d made that wish, which would’ve been close to the time Jack disappeared I think... But wait, it was Maddie who said that ‘Danny’s still not home’... (plus, I’m just feeling off about things. Maddie said, “...than where we were, Danny,” as though he was with her. But he wasn’t. At least not since that morning.) Too bad Danny ended up with something waking him up that night. But perhaps Maddie will see or hear something interesting. Danny’s words after saying, ‘shoot’ to Maddie about asking questions. :P Him suddenly saying, “it wasn’t my fault!” is kind’a amusing. Though it does kind’a make sense, as they’d been blaming him for everything before. I think I like the part where Maddie thinks about Phantom’s kind’a cynical words about how she’ll probably feel better and back to normal in the morning. I just realized... Maddie’s ‘I don’t want to hear it’ when Danny started to mention Plasmius’ theft is rather like a parent. (sigh) It’s a hopeful ending, but also one where I’d like to keep reading and see what’ll happen the next day, and what’ll happen long term. Maddie has a lot to think about. |
Asj Johnson chapter 16 . 5/7/2018 I still like Danny and Maddie talking (it's one of the times I tell myself, "Shh! Pay attention!" Because sometimes there's scenes where I want to focus on what's happening). Maddie not seeming to realize that she was ‘his enemy in this’ is interesting or profound or something. Kind’a neat she’s starting to think of a ghost as a person and not just target practice. The ‘of two natures’ line was neat. Well, she finally made a wish. ...I’d kind’a forgotten that the wishes don’t affect Danny, though (besides that he can't make them). I guess that’s what the bridge-building’s for. |
Asj Johnson chapter 15 . 5/7/2018 I like Danny and Maddie's conversation. A lot 's happening in that scene. Having Desiree around to be able to wish everything was the same as that morning is useful. emotions? ...so... what was Jazz feeling when she disappeared? (feels the need to look up Desiree episodes to see what happened with Tucker and Desiree)(does so) Oh yeah... that was a cool episode, I should've recalled that. |
Asj Johnson chapter 14 . 5/7/2018 ...you (and Clockwork) said the fabric of reality can't withstand over-using a bridge, right...? I'm a little worried about Jack and Jazz talking about doing just that. I want Vlad to know it was Jack who came up with the idea and not Jazz. I found Desiree's "Isn't it obvious? I've come to help." funny. I guess it's just, with the not friends helping stuff, and her of all people or ghosts. What'd he show... Oh wait, Clockwork showed her why they still need Danny, right? Oh look, Maddie's awake. :D She worried Danny unnecessarily. :( (kept wondering if he'd said Mom any, so looked back at last chapter) Looks like the delusion theory's just about him acting nice, and not about him being really weird and thinking she's his mother. ...that would've been creepy. she switched the bazooka to an ecto-gun here. Kind'a had me worried for a second there, as I don't know what would happen if she hit him with a portable portal to a ghost zone that doesn't exist. kind'a weird to hear him talking about what his friends would do when I'd been seeing them doing stuff. oh... hadn't realized Danny would assume she'd vanished like his friends, sister, and father already had. Poor Danny. |
Asj Johnson chapter 13 . 5/6/2018 Poor Desiree... weeping and repentant. (and, did this site kick me out again?!) The ghost portal being just a hole punched in reality is rather creepy. (...why is it bothering my 'afraid of getting lost in undefined places' thing more than the 'other place'? ...maybe because it kind'a reminds me of a creepy timeloop fic for Harry Potter where holes start appearing in reality...) wait. were everyone else saw him like she did? was that her wish? ...I don't think that's what she said, though... And, if that's it, then it's sure not 'everyone '. hm.. interesting it ended up being Vlad and Valerie —the two 'enemies '—who got paired together. Hopefully he'll help heal her, wrap a bandage or stay with her or something, so she'd wake up and be surprised at his caring. But, since she seemed super upset in the first chapter, I take it that won't happen and his 'attack' on her will just make her angry. Also, this explains how he'd managed to get free. would his ghostly wail really be that powerful to bring down the whole block? It seemed ridiculously powerful in the episode he got it, but... Sounds like she's injured more than I'd expected.I'm once again uncertain of how we'll get to chapter one. So, finally finished this chapter and review. |
Guest chapter 12 . 5/5/2018 Well, I guess that proves the wishing thing is still on. (though, how's Danny going to show his true colors to people when there's only one person left? I feel like I'm missing something about this wish... I was amused by Vlad saying he'd been doing all he could to return Maddie and Danny. Despite saying this in past tense, trying to retrieve Jack is not mentioned. I'd been wondering about the timing of the realities on and off. Jazz's lunch thing was pretty plausible to just be from the excitement messing with perception. Then there was the mention of dinner while with Danny, that was a bit more interesting—but then I wasn't sure if it was just a bit of a time jump. Tucker and them could've been talking for hours, and Maddie and Jack were discussing and getting things ready. But now we know. What time does Valerie have? It'd be interesting to know for sure whether Tucker and Sam's time is slightly off. (though it wouldn't prove anything in real life since watches can disagree by five minutes and nothing be wrong.) I like that she noticed him panting and started to have a realization there for a moment. She could at least listen to what he's saying about being between realms. If he were the one to do it, his words about it would probably be true. heh. Maddie needs another wish. But, she probably won't make another one, since chapter one still needs to happen. |
Asj Johnson chapter 11 . 5/5/2018 That’s not Danny. :( (well, not unless he’s changed his name to ‘Vlad’) Heh. I’d wondered if Clockwork had dropped them at Vlad’s feet for a reason, and earlier I’d wondered if Danny’s enemies, as in his parents, would help him. But, I hadn’t yet considered putting those two things together like Tucker just did. Clever. And it does kind’a make sense with what Clockwork had implied about them still being able to help somehow by breaking rules or something.—Oh wait. It wasn’t Tucker who first realized that, it was Sam. Huh. She really did change her mind quickly. But they did both realize it quickly. (...I guess I’d of been more likely to myself if this scene was right after the Clockwork one, like it is for them) Vlad has some interesting thought processes. :P Like here where he explains away his odd cloning Danny thing, and earlier when he said something else but it had a similar feel. Valerie thinking that this was just as much Danny’s fault, because of how he made her make that wish from being around. :P Why’d Jazz suddenly shout ‘no’ when Valerie said that maybe Danny will show up next? Wouldn’t make sense if it’s just because she knows he’s not really not a ghost hunter. Maybe it’s because if Danny did show up, that Valerie might try to kill him? Especially if he still couldn’t switch back. A little risky to tell Valerie that Danny’s a pretty good ghost hunter. I wonder why Jazz doesn’t go grocery shopping more often. Oh yeah... I guess I forgot that Vlad didn’t know that Jazz was back. Hmm... if the bridges mentioned were connections between people (hadn’t thought of that, by the way. Just kind’a thought they were just random portals opening up?), then does that mean that they have to find a connection to each individual? Like Valerie with Danny, and Vlad with Maddie, and... hh... the emergency ham with Jack? Hm, or, yeah, it could be something like a ghost-related portal that connects dimensions, too. |
Asj Johnson chapter 10 . 5/5/2018 Yeah, Maddie, please bring the ecto-entrapper? It might have a cool effect on Danny that no one could predict. Actually, I think this is a great time to think of how wonderful being a half-ghost is.—If he could still turn human like a halfa, then he wouldn’t be in this situation. :D Wow, no wind or anything at all (not even water) does sound rather creepy. (it’s not all that unusual for there not to be wind, but if it’s been like that the whole time, and that in combination with everything else... It’s like they’re under some glass case or something. Something not ‘real‘. ...If I think too much about it, I might start freaking myself out. I think I have a slight phobia of stuff like that. Not that I’ll ever experience being lost in an undefined other place in real life, though, thankfully.) Maybe Danny could write a note and leave it somewhere where they’d see it. Then they’d have more time to think things over and not shoot at him immediately. Or... Better yet, Danny Fenton could leave them a note to explain the situation as best he can. ...although... they might would just assume Phantom had forced him to write the note... And this from a C student. It sounds like Danny understands Clockwork’s view of time really well. Especially for someone who had just got through saying how stupid he is. (also, it’ll be pretty weird for him to find a completely empty ghost zone, if that’ll be what happens. Or, maybe the portal will just seem stuck and not work for him at all.) So... I take it Danny was flying into the ghost zone when he suddenly was blinked back in front of it? Like... wherever on TV I’ve seen that type of thing before? (kind’a like the universe says, ‘you’re going out of bounds. Back to the last check-point for you.) This would also explain why he wouldn’t have just stayed in the ghost zone instead of running around town in a panic in the first chapter. Heh, he’s tried it at least five times. :P Oh, so does it work more like a mirror, then? The type of portal gateway that you come out of as you enter? Though, in that case, Danny should’ve eventually figured out that he could just stick one arm in and have it reflected. ...okay... that was kind’a creepy. Why are the characters constantly repeating my thoughts in this fic? Nice that you have Danny explain the situation with the portal in detail. (what would happen if he instantly stopped after entering the ghost zone, though? If it like fades back into the lab as he flies, then...) What happened the time he walked in? (also nice that he did actually have a method to the five times thing, rather than just keep flying at the portal as fast as he could over and over—though that thought had been a funny one.) ...gotten some really oddly shaped dishes in the cupboards...? Now I’m thinking, ‘what in the world is that about?’ ...I guess it relates to an episode I hadn’t seen recently? Heh. The Anti-Creep Mode audio. Looks like they hadn’t re-recorded that message after that episode. :P Yay, they caught the ghost! :D I mean... poor Danny! (eh, I just want to see what happens when they have him. He’ll get out of it later somehow anyhow.) |
Asj Johnson chapter 9 . 5/5/2018 Well... That’s inconvenient. Jazz did get back to the other side like I’d thought she would, but... I hadn’t really thought of Danny’s friends and her missing each other. ...And, I’m not sure Valerie or Vlad will notice her. (but I think it’d be important for them to team up. Put their heads together. They both know different pieces to the puzzle.) Hopefully she’ll check the lab when going to her house, and notice the ghost portal opened. Writing with keyboards and stories writing themselves sounds kind’a familiar. Vlad just doesn’t understand authors, does he? I think a randomized schedule would be good for Vlad’s sweeps. Decide how often he wanted them done, like four times an hour, and then use a randomize program to decide the exact time for the three scans (but program it not to do it too close together, because it’d be stupid to do it at 10:30 and then again at 10:31). That way he’d have regular scans, but also the random timing that can’t be predicted. ...And... why am I giving advice to a fictional character for a fictional situation? I take it the temporary portal thing is from the show? What episode(s) is that in? Poor Vlad... But, in that episode where Danny had changed time and Vlad had gotten Maddie, it wasn’t too happy a marriage. It wasn’t the best circumstances, though. Things could’ve turned out much differently if the accident hadn’t happened at all... but I’m not sure how that reality would’ve turned out. She probably still would’ve chosen Jack. Though, it might would’ve given Vlad more time to get used to the idea. And they might’ve all remained friends. A bit of an amusing ending for Vlad’s scene, as he thinks that missing Maddie is even worst than not getting the Packers. Yay, Valerie found Jazz. (wait... will she still maybe find the open portal in the basement?) Hadn’t considered the map taking them to that future Danny/Vlad hybrid. I’d wondered if Clockwork would know something (since, you know, he knows the future and all that). Looks like he does know something, since he’s telling them what they should do. But, whether or not he knows about the ‘other place’... I’m not sure if he’ll know more than that Danny will eventually return. He might not be able to see there (especially since the map, Vlad’s detector thing, and... whatever else, can’t seem to pick up Danny at all. Still not sure about the booo-merang, though). I just picked up on the time references Clockwork said. Hadn’t noticed when I stopped to write the above line. ‘this time’ and ‘no time at all’. Eh? Do the map didn’t just pick up on Dan’s similar signature? I guess that’s why Clockwork said, when they first arrived, something about them being there because they needed to be or something. So Desiree was arrested? Or at least, that’s the closest thing I’d thought of that sounds right when it’s mentioned that there’s someone in a containment cell on trial. It’d explain why she suddenly vanished while in the middle of both granting a wish and being sucked into a thermos. Oh, Tucker. He was in the middle of saying something important, you know. So she’d done something with time to make this stuff happen? Clockwork saying that time is not to be meddled in? ...it created room for itself to spread... That’s an interesting sentence. Did Desiree know it wasn’t legal to use the old magic? So... If Danny’s in Amity Park, does that mean that him and his parents are just invisible to everyone else, and vice versa? If so, then would objects shift around on their own if you pay attention (from an invisible person moving it)? ...But that wouldn’t explain why nothing besides possibly the booo-merang could even sense Danny. Oh. so they are in a different place after all. ...Okay... that about issues with crossing over twice sounds pretty bad. Kind’a cool what Clockwork says about the box ghost, though. Sounds like they can’t get the box ghost to send messages between sides, however. Wait. How could Clockwork not have time for something? (such as repairing reality) Oh, so Sam picked up on that, too. Hmm... I just had a thought. I wonder if the bad future thing ‘wasn’t supposed to happen’ because it really wouldn’t have happened unless the evil Danny went back in time to make it happen. In that sense, it really was a paradox that wasn’t supposed to happen. I hadn’t really thought about it that way before. Huh... At the end here, it sounds like Clockwork’s saying there’s some way of helping Danny after all. (and what’s going to happen to the vehicle?) (I was going to do something else today, but I’d had the Danny Phantom theme song in my head since this morning. ...I kind‘a took it as a sign.) Ack. I ended up writing a lot this time. |
Asj Johnson chapter 8 . 5/5/2018 Those poor, confined boxes (shakes head sadly). At least the box ghost is now freeing them from their prison. I’m not so sure Desiree would be in the ghost zone. It seemed like she’d vanished. Though... I’m not sure Valerie had actually told Vlad that. She was kind’a vague with her words to him. Also, I get the feeling Vlad doesn’t know about this other magic that Desiree knows about. Near the start of the fic, it sounded like this other type of magic would fix the ‘kink’ thing in the wish granting. ...though, then she says that it’s unpredictable and that she doesn’t have control of it... which is kind’a the opposite... But I guess it’d be more similar to what she wants? Anyhow, it doesn’t sound like Vlad is considering such a magic. The parent Fentons sure have a 2D view of ghosts, huh? Evil, and always in control unless absolutely contained. I guess it makes more sense when you think of how you’d imagine ghosts in real life, though. The see-through wisps of things that just knock things over and destroy property. Would be hard to imagine such a thing as being ‘real’. Such a caring moment, with Jack hanging back to let his little girl try her hand at ghost-hunting on her own. Huh... so she just randomly vanished? I knew she’d disappear at some point, but I hadn’t expected it to be that way. Huh... (again) How’d Danny’s phone get there? ...although... it Would put more blame on him, some evidence of fowl play for Danny in the same place Jazz had disappeared. If all this was from Desiree’s beginning wish thing, then that magic really knows what it’s doing. There’s that phrase, “his true colors”. But it’s not really Danny’s ‘true colors’. And I don’t think Phantom is the real Danny, either... So there has to be more to this than that. Oh, so Danny really did have his phone with him. Maybe he really did drop it, then. (...is Danny Phantom’s voice actually any different than Danny Fenton’s? Unless it has video, I think Danny‘s being slightly paranoid about Maddie realizing it‘s Phantom with the phone) What other ally Does he have when Sam, Tucker, and Jazz are already gone? So... does the author’s note mean Desiree and Sam and Tucker aren’t coming to Danny’s little patch of reality? Don’t know where else they’d go. But it’d also kind’a ruin the ‘isolation’ thing going on. |
Asj Johnson chapter 7 . 5/4/2018 Sounds like Maddie picked up on what Jazz hadn't —that it'd make more sense to move a handful of people than a whole town. But, when the town itself looks exactly the same... it'd be an easy mistake to make. especially when it's also a lot of trouble to duplicate a whole town instead of just poof them to some box of a room or something. But Danny didn't sense a ghost either, so Maddie might be too quick to discount nothing picking up on one. ...Plus, as for noticing something happening, she seems to be forgetting that odd coldness. ...Although, I thought she stepped out to look for the kids after that. If it was after Tucker and Sam disappeared, then I wouldn't think she'd hear dogs and stuff. Things may be starting to go downhill now. I was beginning to wonder about it when Maddie thought about going home to look after Danny. But now she's called and he didn't pick up. (also, she's had some pretty deep thoughts about her surroundings. A bit unique to read about in such a situation, but I like that the characters have some thoughtful ideas.) I like that you have a part where he tries to switch back to human instead of just having a small note that he had. And his descriptions are neat. About grabbing a coldness or warmth, and also that about it being like a barrier between sides, not it missing. (though, it missing, as though drained from him, would've been an interesting situation) I think Danny's thoughts were running away with him at the end there. Starting to panic a bit. I doubt they'd suddenly start experimenting on him before even figuring out what happened or while everything's weird. |
Asj Johnson chapter 6 . 5/4/2018 And so it starts. (...I do seem to love when Danny can’t control his transformation between forms like this, and that episode with Dash — or like in Connections) I wonder if him sneezing has something to do with it... If it has to do with that device of his dad’s then I’d think his powers would be sapped, not made manifest... Oh, and Danny himself thinks of the Dash episode. “and who knew what else it had hit” — I believe I recall a mailbox. And maybe a streetlight? (As I review, you can probably tell which episodes I’ve watched recently) Huh, so Jazz doesn’t feel anything odd at all with it seeming quiet. Not sure if that means it’s not actually bad, or that she just doesn’t feel it. ...so... she did feel it was odd? Desiree has told Valerie about the wish and that she was the one to do it (I wasn’t sure if they’d ever figure it out). And... She says something about the magic needing to run it’s course. Does that mean everything will return to normal after Danny has shown his true colors/real self? (...if that’s it, then does that mean that Maddie has to learn that Phantom is actually Danny? Or does Desiree believe that Phantom Is his true self? Or, one thing I‘d wondered in the first chapter, if it could involve what Danny will do when he has no more tricks up his sleeves.) Huh... Where’d Desiree go? If this is the real world, then it wouldn’t make sense for her to end up on Danny’s end, right? And how exactly did she interpret Valerie’s wish? It was odd of Valerie to wish that she HAD caught her. But if she could twist it to where she was once caught and then set free, then... well, it’d make more sense if there was a sign of that. And, Desiree seemed too surprised and stuff to have thought to do that. She disappeared with a “N—” like she wasn’t thinking of anything besides having to go into the thermos. Sounds like Valerie might get it. Thinking that Desiree had pitted Danny Phantom against the Fentons. Sounds like about what I’ve been thinking seems to be happening. |
Asj Johnson chapter 5 . 5/4/2018 Hm... The most obvious explanation was that Sam and Tucker weren’t just teleported to their houses but to a different reality altogether (one that was very similar, and which had people). But, since Danny can’t seem to contact anyone he knows with his phone, it seems that it’s the Fentons who are in an other place... I wonder when that had happened. (and how that would play into Valerie’s wish for people to see Danny’s true colors) Huh... First, I wondered if the box ghost was with Danny and his family and not with Tucker and them. And then he Does show up. But then he mentions ‘the other place’. So... if the box ghost was in ‘the other place’ and now he’s with Tucker, I wonder exactly why he returned (?) to Tucker’s side and how. (also interesting how his words for that place is almost the same as I'd said earlier in this review) Sounds like Tucker’s misinterpreting the box ghost’s answers. Though, if Danny is in a separate dimension type of place, then it could make sense for it to be in some corner of the ghost zone, like Poindexter's school. |
Asj Johnson chapter 4 . 5/4/2018 (Huh... why'd the site kick me out? I think it posted my last review as a guest. Oh well.) (looks back at the end of last chapter) Oh... Jack made a wish for the device. Guess that explains how it disappeared like that (and how he suddenly tripped over it last chapter) then. Huh... I could see Sam and Tucker not seeing Danny or Jazz if they’re still talking, but it’s odd for them to not see anyone at all... Could they be in a different dimension than they are? Or perhaps it’s something more simple. The two devices, especially the booo-merang, not being able to find Danny makes me begin to think my jump to ‘they must be in separate dimensions!’ is less out-there. And, is the booo-merang feeling that Danny's still in the auditorium despite not being in the same reality (possibly)? For it to return to the doors kind'a seems like it. |
