poupoulebambou chapter 18 . 3/3 Hello! I just finished reading this fic, and I really felt about writing a review about it. English isn't my first language, but I guess I'm not bad at it? Anyway! I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed what I read I have the feeling that romance fics are often either about a couple already made, or a couple in the making, and will thus finish at the confession. That's why I just appreciated that this story was both about the before and the after. I appreciated it because it was about understanding our own feeling, about patiently overcoming stress and embarassment, about honestly telling people how you feel so your relationship can actually be better, about learning to know people and their past, their fears... It all felt true to me, sweet and warm and I really appreciated the smile it gave me. Well I'm getting a bit too emotionnal and I don't want to sound weird, I just think that it was a very well written fic and a great story. I loved how you wrote the characters, their struggle and their growth. I was really frustrated that the game didn't let us know how Trucy and Apollo would react when they learned about their family, and thus was very happy to see this story here. I loved how you showed Phoenix getting back on his feet, like a transition between the cynical man in Apollo Justice and the back-to-normal Phoenix we get to see in Dual Destinies. I liked... Well, pretty much everyone actually. I really had a good time reading this fic, and I needed that. Thank you! |
DyingofFeels chapter 18 . 7/20/2018 My gosh, this story is beautiful! Managed to stumble into this masterpiece and I just binged this fic for the past two days. I love the way you managed to capture all the characters so well, from Apollo to Klavier, heck even Machi! Like, who includes Machi in their fanfics? AND give him a family and happily-ever-after? I love the... LOVE that was put into this. It was an experience. |
windypath chapter 18 . 3/11/2018 Absolutely gorgeous. I love reading materials like this where every bit and piece is leaping from the words and feels so alive, at least more alive than my dead weight planted where I am. It seems like you really put in a lot of thought and effort into each character and the love and emotion they carry really spills over into how they interact and how you've structured their interactons - you even included detailed descriptions of Machi, Lamiroir/Thalassa, Iris and other characters and events that would usually be overlooked. Writers like you are why I bother reading, fanfiction or not, but kudos for dedicating your time and love to these fictional figures. For example: I admired how you flawlessly captured Kristoph Gavin's dual nature - and mostly through recollections of him rather than through direct interaction, too. Goes to show what a powerful piece this is. I've seen some writers set him up to be a purely evil character in all intents and purposes, which in my opinion just destroys what made him such a compelling and enigmatic villain in the first place. Some other stories also go out of their way to brag about his craftiness and manipulative tendencies by portraying him as monstrous to the point that it's almost comical (for lack of a better term). But the way you go about it - displaying how his actions have cracked Apollo and Klavier, and even Phoenix, and all the damage that's come about from what his done, combined with his complete and utter lack of remorse for any of it, feels so terrifyingly accurate to how I imagined a guy who'd kill and harm countless others over what was objectively a poker game to be and now I've spent way, way, way too many words on this. Despite the emotional pains they cause me, I like bittersweet ends and the feeling that they give of "everything isn't quite alright, but it is as good as it needs to be". It feels like even better closure than a happy ending. Apollo's dialogue really hit close to home with his musings on the future, and wondering about how impermanent any happiness can be, no matter how great it is. Every person in this story is like I'm looking at a piece of ceramic that's been carefully glued back together, even if the cracks are still visible, and it is utterly beautiful to observe them. Even though my more prickly self keeps picking at little things that make me wish I could scribble edits over tiny nooks and crannies that I think should be filled in and I found the use of brackets to separate inner monologue wasn't a great choice, it was a very fulfilling story. Even if you won't ever be returning here to read, I know I definitely will. For what it's worth, I'm grateful that you made this for others to see. |

Sheryl E W chapter 18 . 1/27/2015 Beautifully put together, pulling in all the parts into a bow, I hope that makes sense :s |
Bluelikefriday chapter 17 . 1/18/2015 I really love this story, and hope that you still have the inspiration to want to finish it. It's nice to see you pick up on the lingering plot threads from AJ, that were so annoyingly pushed aside in DD, like where Apollo grew up, and why he came to admire Nick so much ect. Everyone is so wonderfully in character, especially Ema, and it's great to see Machi get so involved. As, despite being so important to Lamiror, he almost never appears in anyone else's works. Can't wait to read what happens next. You did say that the next chapter would be one of the last I believe... |
angrypixels chapter 17 . 8/21/2014 Hehehe so cute |
neon flights chapter 17 . 8/4/2014 Did a double-take when I saw this and another fic I favourited that hasn't updated in years suddenly update... good to have you back! This fic's as lovely as ever and your transition into writing this newest chapter is actually non-existent. Same old good old, still envious of your ability to write stuff that deliciously toes the edge of steamy (i cant write this sentence with a straight face why fgkhfs) I love Machi's involvement in particular; him with Trucy and Pearl are a cracking and adorable group. Seeing Phoenix being an obtrusive pillock is also refreshing after playing Dual Destinies and something I didn't realise I missed until now! |
Sheryl E W chapter 17 . 7/15/2014 Brilliant! So good to see this story being finished. I wish you luck with your work and hope you get more time to rest and write xxx |

mangoesandoatmeal chapter 16 . 4/3/2014 Oh my god. So much yes in this story. I will be waiting very impatiently until this updates. Please, please see my reviews and maybe have at least the slightest motivation to finish this story? IT'S SO GOOD. I especially love all this Apollo and Iris at the orphanage. You have thoroughly convinced me and it is now my head canon. Just, just update soon, okay? I don't think I could handle it if you didn't… |
mangoesandoatmeal chapter 14 . 4/3/2014 Oh my god stop dude I'm literally crying me eyes out THIS IS SO SAD BUT SO HAPPY OH GOD THESE LAST TWO CHAPTERS. Trucy crying… oh man… these last two chapters are probably the most emotional things I've ever read. I know you said you weren't happy with the chapter, but PLEASE reconsider. My tears are just compliments to how amazing this is. |
