Guest chapter 4 . 1/5/2016 When I'm reading this, I forget about the baby-faced heroic young lad with a couple of crappy one liners - in other words, the only things I didn't enjoy from the old Tintin - and feel immersed in the real world, and the character of Tintin seems like it could be real. You're such a good writer. |
Arua chapter 4 . 7/17/2014 AMEN. literally all that was going through my head during Jack's rant about the news. FREAKIN' AMEN. YOU MY FRIEND HAVE GOT IT RIGHT. I am in for a treat, aren't I? |
Orangefur chapter 16 . 4/24/2013 I like the story line and all... But PLEASE take out the words like s***, f***, and G**d*******. I understand other families aren't like mine, but please, do try. Other ways you might lose a few readers. I don't want to be mean. But I think you need to understand that some people aren't allowed to say those things. And that if they were close friends they would try to show how bad those words are. And if you take them out, you might get more readers. You COULD become international. But you need to understand the stakes you play with those words. And like I said I love stories about Tintins past, but they don't need to be bad. You can make a difference in the way you write. Hello chapter 16 . 12/10/2012 Hi! Just stopping by to say that I loved your story (both your writing style, the plot and the character's developpement). I'm definitely sticking by for new ones ;) Just a tiny nitpick of mine I couldn't let go off: when did Tintin get a new phone/get his old one reapired? I can't recall your mentioning it. I think that's all; all in all, a very good read. My sincere congratulations on a work well done :) Cheers, Valdesa PS: If you want to contact me, you can send a PM to Valdesa on ., although I must warn you that I'm currently totally out of fandom (uni'll do that to you). Sooner or later, though, I'll reply. PPS: I wouldn't read just any modern reboot of Tintín en el Tíbet, but yours? Yours I'd read in a heartbeat, and much to my pleasure, I believe :) |
L. Dockweiler chapter 5 . 11/4/2012 Goodness, I should really be getting some sleep now... but I. just. can't. put. this. down... Great job with chapter 4... can't wait to read more! |
BeTheHero90-5 chapter 16 . 8/20/2012 Great story! I felt like you presented Tintin's past in an extraordinary way. The only thing I couldn't understand is why was Tintin drinking through parts of the book? But other than that everything flowed perfectly! Hope to read more! |
Smauglock The Great chapter 16 . 8/1/2012 Uh, There was already a comic book where Tintin went to the Congo... |
TrickyTiara chapter 16 . 6/28/2012 This story has, in my opinion, everything a story should have. It's funny, it's dramatic and exciting, it has interesting characters which seem as though they could exist even when I'm not reading. It was even educational. The straightforward way the news-worthy content was delivered was a bit shocking to me, but the way it hit me was really not in a bad way. A lot of things in this story also helped my understanding of your version of Alph-Art a little more. I feel like calling Henri de Villars something offensive. He's a terrible, terrible man. I think that Jack - although I would find him very dislikeable if I met anyone like him - is in his own way a very wise man, and so I'm glad that he would be in Tintin in the DRC (which I'm nervous but still excited to read), and I'd like very much to see how Tintin gets back at M. de Villars, if he gets back at him at all. One of the things I find interesting about this story is that I'm not sure who the main villain was, and that many of the 'good' guys could be perceived as bad. I don't know whether the crime the story centres around are the things the Lord's Resistance Army was doing,or Todd going behind the backs of his friends and getting Jay killed, or even Henri de Villars' black-mailing. But I only noticed this while I was writing this review and I think it's a good thing, because I think life itself has a lot of these things. And so, another one of your wonderful and addictive stories has been read and reviewed by me, and I'm so pleased that you're going to keep writing. |
RocknRollagirl chapter 15 . 6/12/2012 Your story really impressed me! It is very well researched, and even if it doesnt really fits to the tintin storys i know but it is very good anyway! What i liked most i that nothing iss like id seemed in the first moments, you took your time to make your characters complex and humanly and nothing happens without a good reason.I am looking out for more of this:)) |
Jelsemium chapter 16 . 4/29/2012 Excellent story. I'm wondering about the Congo story, though. If you are going to put so much research into something so stomach turning, you might be better off turning it into an original story. This story is mostly your own characters, so it would be easy to change Tintin and Snowy into original characters. If E. L. James can turn a Twilight fan fic into a best seller (soon to be a movie), why can't you turn this into a story that you can sell? You'd have a shot at a wider audience, too. |
RandomPerson164 chapter 16 . 2/4/2012 I. Love. Your. Work You're an amazing writer. When Tintin dressed in that yellow polo and stuff toward the end, I stopped to stare at the cover of my copy of Cigars of the Pharoah and laugh my head off (XD). You've inspired me to join and write the Tintin fanfic I've been working on in my mind. Thanks for being awesome! (PS, I'm the same guy who reviewed your Alph-Art story and mentioned the Star Wars ending. Haha, Shane ;D) |
RoeBoat chapter 16 . 1/24/2012 Damn, this is good. I'm going to admit right now that while I had heard of Tintin before the new movie, I hadn't read any of the comics. I took my little brother to see it, and I loved it. Now I'm reading all of the comics... And I'm completely hooked. Which brings me to your story, which I think is completely fresh and fantastic. I'm still very new to the Herge canon, and going back and forth between your stories and the comics has been very easy. You've managed to give a new story to existing characters, giving them a believable update but keeping them true to themselves. This is fantastic, and I hope you continue to update this series often. |
SL chapter 16 . 1/23/2012 I really like your Tintin fics, you've managed to update them to the modern day very convincingly! |
Lady Courage chapter 16 . 1/20/2012 Bravo! Excellent story! I love how you've wrapped this up and what's really cool is that I trust you to finish up all the threads in "Tintin in the DRC". :D I loved the characters in this; I loved how you managed to make a believable way for Tintin to have started writing so young; I love how DESPICABLE the editor is; I love it! I have very little free time at the moment, but this is a story that makes me feel as though I spent my time well. Thank you! And I can't WAIT for "Tintin in the DRC"! |
Lady Courage chapter 10 . 1/19/2012 So glad you're putting these up finally! Lol I actually didn't feel like Tintin was terribly OOC. I mean, he was, but it was believable. I totally trust that you'll put him right where he belongs at the end of the next story (WHICH I'm excited about!). Also, loving these brief descriptions of puppy Snowy. So cute! Lol Keep up the good work! :D |
