So I loved this story all the way up until this last chapter. In fact it probably would have rated in the top ten of most favorite fan fictions ever. It’s beautifully written, believable characters and world. And then this chapter. The entire story has been about how the Dark values families and kids, yet this is how it ends. Two children dead, despite one having a father that supposedly loves him but essentially kills him for his lord. A family destroyed by betrayed, with one for sure going to die and the other possibly going to die in my opinion. Characterization went out the door because I very much doubt that Charlie and Sirius would have allowed this happen, yet it’s Sirius and Remus that get killed rather than Charlie and Sirius. I get trying up loose strings, I write myself. However you could have gone about solving that by extending the story even by a chapter or two. I’m super disappointed about this ending, and I hope you either write them an appropriate ending that fits with the world you built or allow someone else to write an ending for them. And I get that not every story has a happy ending, but this story just had a disappointing one. It was like you wanted to add the Horcruxes to the story but didn’t know what to do with them once you did.

I liked the story up until this chapter. The last 2 chapters (15&16) were such a let down compared to the rest of the story. It’s such a depressing ending. The story itself is well written.

BRUH PLEASE. I read this expecting some light fluff, simple depictions of the dark side, sneaking out, teenage joys...etc. WHAT IN THE WORLD. I’m actually crying in the club.

I have no real words to describe how this story has affected me, other than soul crushingly devastated by the ending. Your work is utterly brilliant and it is needless to say that I adored it. All I can ask is if I may take some of your concepts to use in a story of my own?

I'm not going to lie... I absolutely hate the ending. It was all going so well and now I'm just depressed.
I really loved the story, the writing was great and all, I'm just going to pretend that last bit did not happen. Nope.

I wonder.. Would Marcus have regretted getting Harry to join the dark side? Would he have left him alone in the light, watching over him in the dark? Would have loved a more in depth analysis of what he was feeling towards the end.

How sad.

Beautifully written and heartbreakingly tragic. It lead you into a sense of security with the feeling of a happy ending then quickly dropped off the deep end into a saddening ending. I give a 10/10!

I so did not see this ending coming ... holy crap you shocked me. This has been a great experience.

I honestly thought you'd make Marcus' father sacrifice himself and then end off Voldemort cause they lost light lord and now dark lord is dead and Harry is ultimate neutral leader of some sort, unwillingly but like something that the wizarding world NEEDED, who, with the help of Marcus on his side, managed to weave peace between the light and the dark side - at least for a while. Merlin/Founders style - which was forshadowed when Neville first discussed with Harry conflict between the light and the dark.
