Reviews for Mine Enemy
Guest chapter 20 . 7/10
I truly believe that this is the best Sango characterization I have ever seen in a fanfic...and it even goes beyond the manga in exploring the tragedy of her character. It’s so hard to find any story with a female character written the way your Sango is, with the best and worst of human nature all put together. I greatly look forward to reading the sequel! Thank you for your effort in writing this

Never would I have thought something as simple as a ”Hello” would be giving me such chills... *yikes*. Coupled with the revelation that this lavender demon wasnt a naturally evolving beast? *Doubl s* and god I just realized too that Kohaku most certainly was sent out to lead her to him as well... *Aaaahhh*. I said this before but your ability to write action scenes amaze me, and I will selfishly take note in hopes of improving my own... If I ever dare give it a try.

A horrible, yet wonderful chapter with a bittersweet end... I cant wait to read more.
Thank you for writing.

I realize it isnt exactly a direct comment of this exact chapter, but more a budding realization that I have had while reading it. Things, I have found, hit a little bit different when you go through certain things in life that seem to mimic that of fiction. Worry not, for I wont sit here and write a sob story unprompted to a stranger - but I wish to express how reading this so far has been both heartwrenching in a way it perhaps wasnt intended, as well as just... A tad bit eye-opening.

”And when he wouldn't look her in the eye at all the next two days, Sango felt the door on this part of her life shut with a sense of finality that made her close her eyes and almost wish she'd never agreed to it from the start.”

I realize that perhaps its something I, too, should do - though I sit under the assumption that this story wont quite fold itself up with this as its finality (though we shall see, we shall see... You have a knack for throwing me for a loop). But still, as hard as it is to accept it as quicklu as Sango seemingly does? I will have to accept it eventually.

Thank you for writing. More than you realize.
sovandeprins chapter 8 . 6/15
I have always found it terribly hard to write action filled scenes, so forgive me for wishing to take note of the first part of this chapter. It was *delightful* in all the right ways.

And oh, silly as it may be... I have such a severe soft spot for this hint of drunken romance in regards to Miroku and Kagome - ack! Got my heart throbbing more than it had any right to, and then the spar scene turned heated pinning? *Oh how you have spoil me!*

Thank you for writing.
sovandeprins chapter 7 . 6/15
I always end up feeling so captivated by your dialog in a way thats hard to properly describe. Theres just something about the word choices, the feeling of them, that leaves me guessing and wondering. The fact that Sango is reliving her memories via dreams is an interesting phenomenon, and I find myself holding my breath after every movement of the lord, shall we say... It’s hard to put this piece down for even a second, but each chapter has been better than the last.

Thank you for writing.
sovandeprins chapter 3 . 6/14
As silly as it perhaps is, I truly appriciate and marvel at the trivia presented in regards to these demon insects. Its just fascinating getting to see what you come up with, and how it all falls into place coupled with that of showing *past* interactions pf these creatures in the characters lives. Beautiful touch.

The way you introduce things, as well as eventually explain them is equally delightful! The pointing out of sango finding it odd the group sleeps in the open, only to later have it be known that Miroku sets up charms she wasnt aware of - and the fact that its an wxtremely valued trade? Just wonderful. Inuyasha seemingly having known something about these creatures Sango felt so sure she knew best too? God, it just gets better!

Thank you for writing.
sovandeprins chapter 2 . 6/14
I find it absolutely amazingly curious how theres such an emphasis on Sangos part to remember her fathers words about ’walkers’, creatures designing themselves to be appealing to humans while also falling into that very trap with her very next breath. The lines of ”All walkers were predators. Beneath they're pretty facades, their sweet words and voices, were creatures whose nature was to feed.” and ”The light of the fire flickered, catching the sharp lines of his cheekbones, the straight nose, the long curling lashes around those bright, glowing eyes.
Her heart skipped again.” are incredibly few and I really, really like that touch.

I want to express, too, that I usually find myself not enjoying inuyasha in a lot of fanfictions for the reason that a lot of the time he comes across as... Nothing but a try-hard brat and a dumb idiot? If that makes sense. So, its very refreshing to see your way of writing him, because it feels much more solid and real and embodies the peeks we get of him in his serious moments - when typical manga sillyness dont take center stage. Frankly, the way you portray the entire cast - not just in this but in every work I have read of yours - just makes them feel like such real people. Because of *course* Sango would be utterly confused about Kagome being so cozy and close with Shippou. Of course she was taught a lot of things to be a *slayer* of demons that would come bubbling up and clash with her current position in life once surrounded by a walker - half or not. Its refreshing.

Thank you for writing.

Oh, I love that the very first line instantly throws you for a loop, bravo for that.
—There is something so simple, yet so captivating about your writing its... Hard to put my finger on exactly what it is. What it truly is, however, is simply beautiful; And I very much look forward to seeing where this story goes. I absolutely have a bit of a hidden soft spot for Inuyasha and Sango as a pair, and this is hitting all those points from the get go.

Thank you for writing.

“The blood of the coven is thicker than water of the womb.”
Thanks for the story, can’t wait for the sequel. I’m sure I’ll get all the feels just like this one~

Enjoyed reading this story. Looking forward to more
DRTiguere chapter 20 . 2/17
Beautifully done! Very surprised you're completing the story here, but love the fact you're continuing in another story. A sequel, now that I'm thinking about, seems very fitting for the story, another arc into the journey that is Sango and Inuyasha. I've written two reviews and now three for this great body of work and I will continue to praise this beautiful story with how grounded you make these characters and keep them in character as well. Thank you so damn much! Thine Enemy is going to be highly anticipated. Till next time.
Sturdivant chapter 20 . 2/16
Thank you for the continuing. I, of course, will be watching out for the sequel.

Loved the conclusion to this story that I’ve been following for years! Can’t wait to see where you take this next
DRTiguere chapter 1 . 2/6
Yup! I am back for a third round reading your piece of work and just finishing the first chapter has given me a wave a relief. Just the harsh tone between Inu Yasha and Sango has solidified the strict line of distaste they have for one another, I think personally these are the most fascinating and complex forms of relationships I love to read about. If you have any other suggestions for these type of relationships please PM me on them. Got dammit, thank you!

Question, after reading how conscious Sango is of Inu Yasha holding her I know she's guarded because he's a half demon and well, she was trained to distrust and kill demons since she was a child, but the flashback when Naraku rears his sleazy head while looking at Inu Yasha's, why? See, though I'm asking this question I can't help but want to answer it myself or at least theorize. Is it because of the intimate relationship she had with a disguised Naraku that she's subconsciously imprinting Inu Yasha in that same light? That confusion of intimacy as he steadies himself while dragging his claws down her thigh triggers latent memories of being fooled but at the same time shamefully aroused?

I may be reaching further than Mr. Fantastic but I think with the added effects of the drugs she's on has her inadvertently comparing the two hanyous. Shit, I fucking love this story, sorry, excuse my language. Just excited to re-read which by the way I will heavily stress I. Do. Not. Do. Okay, enough, if you so happen to read this no pressure on the question/theory, just had to put it out there cause it was gnawing at me. I'm continuing.
