Nicely written, and perhaps a more likely scenario than it might seem from the canon given how broken the magic potentially could be (and always tends to be). Perhaps also a good point about the importance in the series of magic being illegal and Merlin using it only with extreme caution. Otherwise, every episode would probably be kind of like this but perhaps even shorter. Thank you for writing and posting!

Haha! Merlin seems to be more indignant about the fact that he has to clean the floor several times during the night, and not about the fact that Arthur almost got assasinated! Perhaps he's used to attempts like these?
