So much good. Still the Chara in the synopsis hangs like the sword of Damocles.

Beckman always got off too easily. At least in this one no-one is forced to have a social relationship with her. Although, come to think of it, a couple of the team have been social with the old hag. It always grated, even in canon, when she was treated as a friend and sometimes made part of the family. Many times in FF she deserved to be spat on rather than befriended.

The mission/action set out is great.

So like many other stories on here now. I've been conditioned to have no free will. When I do shitty things it's because I have no choice. Complete abdication of personal responsibility.
Here I was thinking as per the story outline that S.A.R.A. was supposed to be jealous but no, she is actively working against Chuck because she has common ground with Sarah. S.A.R.A reacts to programs as Sarah reacts to orders. No free will No responsibility.
Surely we can manufacture a necessity for a night of wild sex for Chuck and Eve right next to Sarah's bunk. Maybe Chuck needs to investigate Eve more closely:-)

This could be a great story, enthralling even. I just have to ignore all the relationship aspects, even if we only have a couple of hints that it is going that way.

Eve must be extra special. Everyone from her era became either irrational or emotionless but not her? Why is no-one watching her with a termination sanction?

Eve can so easily see that what Sarah says and what she does are opposites while Chuck just wont..

Overs/unders on Chuck recovering from being sick to his stomach. About 30 minutes is average in FF.
I'll admit to being confused. Sarah fell for Daniel. Sarah meant what she said to Chuck months ago. Sarah was happy to have Shaw a few feet away from Chuck. She hated every minute of it. The aim of putting her with Shaw was to find out why the team was underperforming but she did it to protect Chuck? Sarah was not even convinced that Shaw was a double so how is she protecting Chuck?
I like Chara as much as the next person (except maybe Tigertod:-)) but some lines are not to be crossed, some behaviours are going too far, it can't be at any cost. If it has to happen "no matter what" then Chuck has no say in his own life.

It's even worse than I feared. Even in canon we could accept that a broken Sarah might have gotten involved with Shaw in an attempt to find solace. What she has done here relies on Chuck having no self respect to bring about Chara. We can't even be convinced that it was all at the General's behest, given her thoughts "I haven't said no" and her reaction to him being shot - not the way you would react to to a suspected double agent. Which was it. Either she agreed to be his love interest because she believed him to be a double, and therefore a threat to Chuck, regardless of the emotional effect on Chuck, in which case she would be happy to be out of it. Or that part of her which had fallen for Daniel had in fact fallen enough to consider marriage. Trying to give her an out in a thought bubble which is inconsistent with her actions and other thoughts is a sneaky way of trying to absolve her.

I mean seriously. The story is intriguing, the set up great, but the A/N promising Chara (please no) is making my skin crawl. If ever there was a Sarah who did not deserve Chuck it is this one. Most stories where she runs off with Shaw have her come to her senses quickly but banging him within feet of Chuck?
I expect that the author may try to present it as her being on some sort of undercover mission or something but realistically there is no way back for her here, and certainly not in the exceptionally abbreviated timeframe these FF stories usually try to pass off.

Interesting chapter and plot and idea

Good story. Interesting plot.

I have recently found this story, and am saddened by the situation. I wish I had had the opportunity to message OM. He has a great angst filled story here and he came so close to finishing it. I hope someday someone will finish it as his legacy deserves to be complete.
