That final scene that goes the Romeo and Juliette of hetalia high, the prince and his knight, the sophomore slump and the come back if the year? That was just amazing. This is still one of my guilty pleasure reads and a fic I love to revisit from time to time. It meant so much to me when I read it the first time and revisiting it I remember why. It’s such a fun story and it has a lot of heart and I’ve always been a sucker for found family narratives. I hope you are doing well and I’m so glad this fic is still on here.

So I read this fic for the first time when I was in high school, I don’t know how I found it maybe I found it searching through the tags or maybe a friend sent it to me, I do know I always recommended it to my friends. I tend to reread this at least once a year, so here I am a senior about to graduate from college, back again.
I’ve always wondered why this fic works so well, it has a lot of cliches, many of which I’m usually not a fan of, but maybe it’s because they make the story stronger I’ve always enjoyed them here. The main strength of this fic, of course, is character. Even though you’re using characters from a preexisting show, you’ve managed to make them your own and yet have kept them true to their source material. I have discovered what I believe was the secret to how successful you were with the characters, it’s a writing tip that Pixar uses when creating new characters and stories and that’s that each character believes they themselves are the main character of the story. They each have their own backstory, manorisms, goals, and issues, and you treat each as if they were just as important to the story as Arthur. I think that’s absolutely fabulous and I aspire to write things with characters as thought about as these characters seem to be.
Not only did you write characters well, but also you created an entire world for them to live in. To call this fic a high school au would be a disservice because you didn’t just build a high school, you built a mall, you built different homes, and you built families for all the characters. You created an entirely new world that’s unique which is hard to come by in fanfics.
Anyways I could ramble for days about how great this fanfic is, even if things have changed since this was created, hot topic for example has become much more mainstream. Author, I don’t know if you read comments on this anymore, but if you do, I hope you’ve continued to tell stories, whether that’s writing them or otherwise because I believe you have the talent to create great things. I'll be honest, I was a bit skeptical at first, but this story grabbed my attention. You did well with the whole "change for another person" thing. Because, in the end, Arthur didn't actually change for Alfred like he thought he was going for. He changed for himself.
I love how the story didn't solely focus on the relationship between Arthur and Alfred. Certainly, I clicked into it for USUK but I got so much more as well. The growth and friendships in this story added so much and I loved it all. It wasn't a romance story, but moreso a high school experience.
I was looking for a good story to read and this well delivered. I'm sure it will stay with me. Thank you very much!

This was an amazing fanfic, the plot was awesome, very descriptive, showed the development of friendship and the loyalty and care they had for each other, self acceptance, and the ending had me smiling and cheering for all the punks in the world. Bet my group would be happy to read this, one's a usuk shipper too! Loved this story, I ship UsUk like Fed Ex. (just because we're punks and rebels does not mean we can't fucking ship)
