First chapter and I’m hooked :)

I think the more salient question with the broom thing is where did she summon it from? She had been imprizoned how did she know there was a fire bolt nearby? However I'm willing to suspend disbelief. The bigger issue for me comes in your portrayal of the forties. They all talk like modern American teenagers. Having hermione use slang like cool etc is fine, but the others should question her on it. I especially noticed it with Tom riddle. And then there's Brittany. Why would a girl from Britain in the forties be named Brittany? I don't think that name has ever been very popular in the U.K. It just really pulls you out of the story, which is a shame because I actually quite like your story. You should stick with it. Writing believably for a different culture and time period is difficult. (I've been assuming you're American, if not I apologize for the assumption)

1. Incendio, being the most basic of the two spells (so basic that an 11 year old Hermione casted it on Snape's robes), should have been the first and obvious choice over fiendfyre

2. Hermione can't summon a broom let alone fly one

Perfect start however I would have started a year earlier or is Tom Head boy in sixth year which is possible BTW just saying if you want to prevent the horcuxs or not

I hope you do continue to write I like Hermione and Tom Riddle stories notice I said Tom not voldey as far as suggestions go nothing like a romances don't forget the lemon juice
