The way you write is just BEAUTIFUL.

I don't usually read angsty stories, but I'm glad that I did this time. You've described John's character so spot on. The " He sacrificed the space in his brain, the precious memory on his hard drive" brought a lump to my throat. I'll say it again: beautiful.

Okay, deep breath. I have only said this to two other writers in this marvelous Fandom of Sherlock.

I cried. No joke. You found an aspect of the story that has not been explored yet - and you wrote so beautifully about it.

I could see Sherlock climbing up on the roof, sitting there, in the cold, huddling under a blanket, reading the books he brought up there by flashlight and peering through the telescope...all for one simple reason: John Hamish Watson thought it was important.

You are genius and thank you so much for this utterly, utterly lovely story.

Beautifully written yet profoundly sad. I took hope from your story tag of Angst/Hurt/Comfort but sadly there is no comfort here - John is left in bleak solitude.
