Chic chapter 21 . 9/18/2017 This fic is an authentic master piece. Great work! |
AlexMurray11235 chapter 1 . 4/25/2016 Thank you for your fantastic writing! I love how Scott is an actual, well developed character in your stories as opposed to the bland, 2D figure he is in the movie. The way he struggles with trust and rebuilding his life is so spot on, it is perfect. |
Aceclops chapter 1 . 12/28/2015 This story was amazing. Very well written. But as an avid X-Men fan I feel compelled to inform you that all mutants and immune to HIV and AIDS. |
Guest chapter 6 . 10/2/2015 Read this fic years ago and just rediscovered it... loving it all over again. |

andressa chapter 21 . 4/2/2014 Best fanfic i've ever read. Actually I can't call it anything but a book. And a very good one. |
Waterfall chapter 21 . 6/6/2013 Wow, this fic is just absolutely amazing! I should have been doing other things today, but no, I mostly sat in front of my laptop reading avidly, alternating between tears and laughter. I could only explain it to my friend with "It's a Minisinoo fic, it trumps other things". :) The way you write complex emotion is skillful and believable, and when I think I'm alone in my love for "boring" Scott all I have to do is read your fic. I've probably read at least part of this before but it really didn't matter, if so I enjoyed it all over again. Tomorrow I will start on "Grail" (which is how I was reminded that this fic was on my 'to read' list - yay author alerts!), but for now I'm off to bed, you've kept me up too late. :D Thank you! |
gillywap chapter 21 . 5/29/2013 This is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. It's hauntingly beautiful, and painfully, painfully real. And I absolutely loved how every character was very dynamic, and each were given justice. I love how they were all /flawed/ and not the perfect little characters they are sometimes depicted as. I love how you wrote Jean (specially since she's my favorite character)! I love her temper and her courage. How she just /pushes/. And I love how it drives Scott nuts! And wow oh wow did all my feels explode with every little Jean/Scott moment. From the moment they met (augh, the hostility PERFECT) to them gradually falling in love. I love how it was a process and how you showed how they progressed and how he progressed. I love how it wasn't love at first sight. It was /believable/ and god the innocence of their love just kills me aksjdfn God, ALL MY FEELS for Warren in this story. I especially liked this part: "Some days - yes! If it meant I could be normal. If it meant I didn't have to hide these damn things." The wings arched and beat for emphasis. "If I could have friends, a lover, a family. Sure. I'd be the son of a goddamn welder if it meant I had a father who gave a shit. I'd be anything at all if it just freakin' meant people didn't hate me!" And the image of Jude Law saying that? /good god/ I love the imagery. Everything, EVERYTHING about this is perfect. Sometimes I wanted to hug Scott and sometimes I wanted to slap some sense into him. I just- man, I hope I'd be able to write like you can one day. And my favorite tiny detail is how you wrote that Jean and Erik were close because it has forever been my headcanon that Jean took to Erik more than Charles. Also, as I was unable to leave a review when I read it, I LOVE "HOW THE LEOPARD CHANGED HER SPOTS". The characters were so intact, and the interactions were perfect and omg I absolutely loved how their powers changed the nature of their relationships and their lives but with them still being very much who they are as established characters. Anyway, this is quite possibly the best fic I've ever read EVER and I'm really sad that it's over but it took me over24 hours to finish the whole thing. I started 2:30 PM yesterday and I read until like twelve-ish and then I ended 5:50 PM today! Could not stop reading augh and I had to take frequent breaks for like food or to pee because I wanted to be really comfortable while reading the fic so that I could savor each and every moment. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS STORY and this is now my headcanon js |
iloveLuLu chapter 20 . 5/27/2013 I love this story. It is without doubt one of the most moving and emotionally raw stories I have ever read. I wish that the screen writers had considered you when they made the original movies. Its a shame you dont write any more for FF but I understand your choice. Is there any chance of seeing Grail up here? Thank you for sharing your phenomenal talent with the rest of the world. Lu |
Carbon65 chapter 1 . 2/3/2013 This is absolutely breath-taking. It's haunting and feels right. Thank you so much for writing this, for telling this story of all the stories to tell. Thank you for making Scott a real, dynamic person with rage and despair to work through. He's raw, and real, and it makes me want to delve into things more. |
Chrissie chapter 20 . 9/24/2012 This is a masterpiece. It is so, so good. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I dont have that much knowledge of healing from trauma, but from what I know, you nailed it. It is so rare to find a realistic story about healing from trauma or beravement in fiction, be it books, movies or tv. Its not exactly rare to come into contact with one of these topics at some point in your life - but yet so so many people have zero knowledge how hard healing is and how much time it takes, nor how to support someone who goes through it. Your description of Jeans frustration and how had it is to be around someone like Scott is so on spot, too. We need more writers like you. I so whish I knew where to buy your original fiction! |
akaeiram chapter 19 . 8/23/2012 This is seriously the best story I've ever read. I love the idea of cyclops origins/genisus and your wat of doing it was entirely amazing! Your approach on every subject is super mature and thrilling to read. Never stop writing! There was only one thing I disliked, and that's that Alex/Havok wasn't physically in the story :( |
moms5thchild chapter 21 . 12/26/2011 Just found and read t his story. I actually left my computer on the entire time I was reading it so I would never 'lose' my place and have to go searching for it whenever I rebooted the box. I do like and know many of your references; such as John Irving's 'Cider House Rules' (a personal favourite) and the trip to Greece (the only European country I've ever went to). These things made the story more personal. Yet, they were not the reason I devoured your story. It is well written, logical in a horribly illogical situation (abused children) and offers a unique perspective on Scott Summers. He is a character neglected in the movies but after reading the comics for forty years he is so much more than film writers have ever given voice too. Wolverine is so much more visual but Scott is a leader and always was. Mom |
