I like this fanfiction. Though you have taken a liberties with the HP universe, which makes it a bit jarring at times, I like how you were to able to make Draco and Hermione (D&H) connect at the intellectual level. Something that is overlooked in some of the D&H fanfiction. However, if we were to take HP canon seriously, how would overcome Draco's weak role in the HP series?

You have to take into account of Draco's relationship with his fellow Slytherins, in which he is the center of attention and is thus able to order everyone around him. The women that are around him are in many devoted to him to a fault. Pansy adores Draco, while Mrs. Draco waits on him on hand and feet with him the only child and all. Hermione is an ill-match for Draco in that she is made into a strong woman. In fact your decision for Hermione to be privy to some of Draco's intimate secrets with his curly hair and humiliating him in front of the student body, only adds to his weak character as a spineless bully who got *itch-slap by Hermione in the first place.

The episode with the thunderstorm is a plus in this regard in that it reveals some of Hermione's vulnerability as a woman, and her desire to be with Malfoy to console her. But, how does this make Draco heroic? Is Draco in your story, truly willing to throw away his pride as a pure blood wizard? If he is threatened to be disown by his family, would he be willing to sacrifice his life privileges to be with one true love, with Hermione? Would he endure the contempt that he would undoubtedly face by his former peers among the pure blood families?

I talked to my sister about it, and she agrees that Draco is a weak, if not pitiful character in the HP series. He is not given a chance of redemption or overcome his character flaws in the series, so how would you remedy this throughout your story? An extreme example of how my sister would suggest that Draco becomes a strong character is to completely isolate him from any support of any kind. Take away his magic, put him in a cabin the woods and make him live off the land by his wits.

Personally, I would have the Ministry of Magic be complete asses and have them confiscate the entire Malfoy Estate as war reparations or wealth redistribution. Mr. Malfoy would be executed for high crimes and his family banished from the wizard community with no access to magic in the muggle world. And then Malfoy would have to learn how to live like a muggle.

I'm sorry, but this is too rediculous. Not a single snog in the whole chapter, save a "going public kiss" in the beginning. After all this time you'll still let me down like that! Please write something heated as soon as she's an adult.

I mean, plot wise, this is a brilliant twist, and it really does something for the story. But still. I wanted a snog.
