Best fanfic I've ever read

I was linked to this by a few people, and despite my... disdain for your writing, it was a bit of a surprise. I like the thematic content more than anything else here, because just about everyone was horridly, painfully out of character, especially Sephiroth. I had to imagine Zack in his place for the most part, because some of his thoughts and the words that came out of his mouth were not anywhere near Sephiroth-level intelligent.

Any kind of world/universe that tackles the idea of nonhuman humanoids and how they're perceived by humanity piques my interest. But I think there's a major element missing to this story, and that is how they are ever going to deal with the sex. Realistically speaking, given that it seems the cat-hybrids have a human genetic base somewhere, Cloud would not be able to mature past a certain level mentally. Critical periods in the way human development work mean that after a certain age, if a task has not been mastered, chances are it never will be. Look at any person who has been abused for years, especially applying the situation that Cloud and the other cat-hybrids were in. Granted, he is a nonhuman, and certain things do not apply, but the way he comes across later gives me the impression that mentally, Cloud is barely eight or nine.

It lends a degree of side-eyeing to the sex, especially in this last chapter (beyond the fact that the sex scenes were rather poorly written), and I think that if Sephiroth were to consider it further, Cloud's ability to consent is still compromised. He's not only taking advantage of a rather sorely under-thought genetic predisposition, but also really taking advantage of someone who not only doesn't know better (despite any further 'training,' I don't think Cloud is going to be able to truly grasp the concept of consent and complicated sexuality) but is still by technicality a child. (I read some research recently on how sex and consent are interpreted when it comes to adults with learning and mental disabilities, and it's such a gray area it's hard to say one way or the other. This is just gut-response.)

I agree with one of the reviewers that it's hard to see Sephiroth as such an advocate in a sense, but my Sephiroth at least has always been an animal lover, and would hate to see anyone in undue pain (war is one thing to him, I'm sure). I'd rather like to see this with a more in-character Sephiroth (who wouldn't use terms like "dick" or "chickening out"), as the way his mind operates would really impact the gravitas of the story.

You have a gem in here somewhere. I'd like to see it someday.

I really liked this story! NOT just for Cat!Cloud (Though that was a-fucking-dorable /_ but also because of the serious themes you tackled. I like Activist Sephy ;D XD

It's scary to think of a future like this - where something is created for sex and so humanity desensitize themselves to it's basic rights as a living being. Even the way animals themselves are treated today is shockingly horrid!

I loved how you got Sephy intrigued by the cause of battling for the Cats! rights :D It was sweet and I wish someone with power in society today would do something about rights on/for certain subjects like Sephy here did :/

Cats. I like cats. They are wonderfully independent but also needy. They're kind of bi-polar.
On with the review, as usual, wonderful work. Like, seriously, at least your stories does not solely revolve around love in a lover-sense of the word. At least, there are issues addressed by your stories.

And that's should be what makes stories unique from each other. Oh sure, the themes could be the same but the dynamics of the interactions would be more real and believable when there is a concrete issue being talked about.

However, I can't quite imagine Sephiroth on a peaceful, nonviolent advocay. Must be the stereotype warrior, blood-and-gore, Demon of Wutai taking charge of my imagination. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to see him in something other than the SOLDIER that he is.
