Oof. This is hard to read because we love to think of Cas as one of the good guys. But this is definitely a bad guy kind of move... Great writing though!

I get what other reviewers are saying; yes, that wasnt exactly the nicest thing Cas's ever done, but I think some people are forgetting that Clare gave him permission.

I loved how creepy and threatening this was - showing a side of our beloved nerd angel we don't normally see - I imagine he's in full-soldier of God mode, and not much choice when it comes to a suitable longterm vessel.

But how sad the sacrifices the Novak family have had to make!

Holy crap, the writing here is fantastic! Thank you so much for posting this! Everything is very visual. I also liked the tension of not knowing if Jimmy was going crazy or not. Although I personally think Jimmy is long gone by now, this is definitely something I'd like to see in the show!
