Grrrr...you have no idea how much this story frustrated me.

Not that it isn't good, it's sooooo good that I'm reviewing in the first place. But dang it I just wanted these two to get together, was that so much to ask? The boundless amounts of UST just drove my romantic heart to such high levels of frustration that I was sure I'd develop high blood pressure.

Can't I just have fluff?

Sadly my brain demands more cultured stories and too cute stuff makes me cringe.

I don't have much to say, other than this is a very competent and engaging story. Characters are spot on, it's dark and painful without dipping over into melodrama, and containing some humor. It explores something we know happens in canon, just not the specifics thereof, and makes some logical and reasonable guesses as to what happened.

Good stuff.

This was a nice ending. Maes was delightful throughout this entire story and Roy's guilt was very believable. Thanks for a nice read. I meant to go to bed hours ago because I was tired, but a fun story always keeps me from wanting to sleep, and it's been a while since I was this into reading 'fic. Haha!

What a nice callback with that last line. Maes having to look away as Roy peels the dead skin away was so believable. Good job Riza, not fainting; it would have been easier on her if she had, but I bet it would have made Roy panic and nothing would have been accomplished, anyway.

Wah: that last sentence. Way to make me want to clutch my chest; I didn't ask for these feelings! (Of course Maes eavesdrops. Haha!)

I laughed at poor Maes's confusion and, um, worry. But I have to admit that I do like the idea of him helping out, here. Since he and Roy were close friends and Riza has been through many of the same things, it almost seems fitting for him to know that small personal detail. Well, maybe not fitting, but it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility; it seems fitting that he COULD know about it.

For a second I forgot that this was a multichapter story and I was a little salty that it was over. Haha! Poor Riza, hoping for scraps; their miscommunication mishaps are pretty amusing but also almost sad. They make sense, though; Riza doesn't strike me as the type to openly share feelings very often.

Loved it! Pistols was keeping me up and now this! Can't wait to continue.
