It is a bit unusual that Merlin doesn't have to provide a catalyst for the repeal of the ban on magic, but it is very well explained here why that wasn't necessary and that catalyst had come in a long time previous. I think I rather prefer this approach to the reveal to many of the others I have seen. Thank you for posting!

Sometimes I wish the series could have gone this way, but then half of the problems that came up and made great watching would have been eliminated out of hand.

I think you should write more from this storyline, tell the story again but from that point of view. Tell us the story of Agravines betrayal and Morgana's fight for the throne. Show it as her fight to get the crown, not to free magic which was only the excuse she used to gather others to her banner. Tell the real story of Morgana's greed and her insanity. Tell the story of Merlin and Arthur, of their fight to unite the land of Albion and bring equality and justice to all her people's. That's the true story of Camelot!
