Love this so far but my brain had to take a hard swerve... isn't the Jeffersonian supposed to be the Bones universe version of the Smithsonian?

What a wonderful story! That was a great way to show Booth's feelings for Bones even while he was with Hannah. I would have loved to see that on the he show!

But this part:
"But you know what's worse than admitting that you used somebody? Continuing to use them just so you don't have to face that you messed up…"

Have to admit this is one of the reasons I struggle with Booth's characterization. I don't think it is a moral thing to do to propose marriage just to avoid facing that he made a mistake. I wouldn't want to be married to someone who is in love with someone else. Once he started to admit "the one you love the most"- he should've backed down. The way he tossed Hannah to the street shows me that whatever the feelings were it wasn't enough for a lasting relationship. No matter what one thinks of Hannah it was a cold move. If you really love someone you would give them the benefit of the doubt. It's one of the reasons i like to believe that deep down he knew she would say no.

Great job with the suspense - and I really liked the situations you put them both in to discover their truths and get their timing right. Cam's role in your story was great - gather the evidence, don't jump to conclusions of your own. The misunderstandings were just right - I am glad I happened upon this story as a completed one - I loved that flow/angst created to the end! Thanks for your story!

Booth answering the door like he did and having Benjamin meet him that way - nice touch!

Ok, I give up. Didn't want to review because most of the stories here start out really good but then go down hill as you continue. But your story is brilliant and i can picture everything like an actual scene. Your writing style is awesome, love the emotion you convey in each scene. Hope Booth and Bones resolve their issues.

You kept them so true to their characters, even if it was kind of an Alternate Universe take on the end of "The Doctor in the Photo" but I think you did a brilliant job!
