Great story but I can't help thinking that there could have been a happier ending for everyone. Wizards live 300 years (which also means that no new lines would've appeared in his face in only the 5 or so years to that last vision).

Harry could have lived out the next 50 years or so till Zoe and the rest of the crew died (or retired) and then jumped back and lived out the remaining 200 years in his own time. Even if he couldn't jump back to the time he left (and why not, seems like the paper is clearly tied to the time not just the place otherwise he'd jump to the abandoned Earth in the 2t00's) and he lost those decades and his human friends like Murphy were gone, he'd still have Thomas, Elaine, Molly, Ebenezer, Carlos and even Susan theoretically since this prevented Changes (... did he leave before Maggie?).

I just feel bad for his friends, especially Thomas and I like happy endings.

awesome. I love both Firefly and Harry Dresden and I can see Shepard Book as a knight of the cross, Nickodemius as the head of the blue handed bastards and the guild the new white court. When you reviled that Inara was white court I went aha! she acts more like Tomas than Lara so Tomas must be in charge. Didn't expect him to be dead though. Very believable crossover.

You're making this too easy for Harry. His limitations in canon are that he can't use magic around tech, that he can't trust Lash / using her abilities is dangerous, that the Council will kill him if he violates the Laws, and that most of what he fights is supernatural and tougher than he is.

In this story, you've taken all of that away. He can freely use magic without worrying about affecting Serenity, apparently Lash is now trustworthy, there's no Council around (as far as he knows), there's no sign of anything supernatural or magical to act as a real threat...it's too easy, and that makes it boring. The reason that the Dresden Files are so fun is that Harry punches above his weight class by being smart, but he has to be smart because he fights things that are above his weight class in the first place. Here, he's a heavyweight fighting flyweights all the time.

Shoot, apparently the tracking spell is now infinite range too. In canon, when he tried to use it to track Maggie he didn't know if it was failing because she was just out of range.

Seems Zoe's moving awfully fast. How long has Dresden been on the ship at this point? For her to walk over and start kissing feels awfully out of character. I don't think the narrative has earned this yet - thijgs should have started with talking, jokes, etc.

Really great writing! I loved the story and how everything worked out for Harry. I even liked what you did with the White Court. It fits with the Companions.
