Lboodt chapter 1 . 7/15 I originally read this story about 7 yrs ago. It was so very well done and so perfectly in-line with the type of story I was looking for that I couldnt get it out of my head. I recently spent about 2 weeks trying to find it again without knowing the author or title simply on my memory of the story and was finally able to do so. I must say it certainly didnt disappoint but was as amazing as I remembered. Your writing style is impeccable. Absolute perfection. I hope you continue to write and if you have written under other names or series I would love to know. |
splattermusic chapter 1 . 7/14 I hear Lindsay Ellis mention this fucking on her podcast and I just had to read it! So I'll be starting this and I love it so far. Also congrats apparently Lindsay has read this fanfic more times than any other piece of literature |
dasweeton1868 chapter 17 . 6/2 I am really enjoying this story. The characters seem to flit delightfully around each other and Erik is wonderfully in character. I've seen many stories where things move too quickly or are too unrealistic and this is not it. I love it |
Barbossa'sApples chapter 1 . 5/13 While I’m going through your stories lol, I’ll leave a review here (not sure if I’ve ever reviewed this logged in?) but this is one of the best fanfics I’ve ever read. Love love love it. Will have to read again soon. |
Rosie-Allie999 chapter 44 . 8/17/2019 I know it's been some time since you posted this but I enjoyed it so much. It would have felt like I wasn't appreciating the story and your hard work on it if I didn't review. Youu portrayed everyone so believably so it feels like a flow of words, especially the time intervals, very seamlessly done:) I thought Nora was bland in the first few chapters but reading it again it makes better sense. I also thought your ending in Chapter 37 was beautifully written and quite right at the time(but I'm re-reading the lovely fluffy bits at the end, very thankful for them) In short, I loved it. |
J chapter 44 . 7/4/2019 This is superbly written, it should be used as a masterclass on how to write OCs. You should teach a masterclass on OCs (or at the very least, hide in the attic and drop ominous notes of red ink). Your characters are compelling, the story is well-paced and practically every word sings. It exceeds expectations as both romance and fan fiction. |
cmc chapter 29 . 1/21/2019 The trouble with this fic, which I am re-reading with baited breath, is that: how does one find anything as good afterwards? So far I've never been so lucky. |
kwat0 chapter 44 . 8/11/2018 You are a wonderful writer and i enjoyed every chapter. Your characters were fantastic and i love your ability to draw the reader into each setting and emotion. I do hope you consider writing more in the future, whether in relation to this story or a new one entirely. |
K9Train chapter 29 . 7/14/2018 I cannot praise this enough— I’ve not even finished reading the entire story yet and tried biting my tongue so I could leave a final review on the very last chapter but this one in particular pulled at my heartstrings. Erik mimicking the objects in the room, his witty one liner about the cutlery and teacup, how fantastic was that?! You have such an eloquent style of writing that it seems like an actual extended version of the novel itself and this is what astonishes me, more than your perfect characterisation of Erik, more than the banter and interactions between wonderful, wonderful Nora and Erik... thank you so much for bringing such a wonderful work into the world. I really hope you’re continuing to write, outside of this site, because you have pure talent. |
Not Your Ingenue chapter 44 . 2/9/2018 Read this straight through. This was one of the most amazing, well-researched, lovingly-crafted fanfics I've read in a long time, or possibly ever. It's simply beautiful. It made me laugh and cry (I forced myself to read the sad parts you wrote and still haven't fully recovered) and grin like a maniac. I'm not sure I'll ever get over the absolute, utter cuteness and perfection of this pairing! Best E/OC as far as I'm concerned. |
ann chapter 44 . 12/4/2017 Oh my gosh, this was wonderful. Beautiful story. |
Wheel of Fish chapter 44 . 7/25/2016 This story has been recommended to me by four separate people since I started publishing and reading Erik/OC fics this year, but I was always reluctant to take it on because of my mile-long to-do list and the fact that I cannot freeze time. That was clearly a mistake on my part. This is a shining jewel in the land of Erik/OC: well researched and admirably true to canon, with lovely writing and a memorable OC. The scene where Nora asks Erik to return and essentially haunt her later has stuck with me for days since I read it! This must have taken so much time and effort. Perhaps you are taking a much-deserved break, but I hope that you will return to publishing soon. :) |
Melancholy's Child chapter 44 . 6/12/2016 I have to admit that I rarely review, but I wanted to make sure I did for this story. I don't often read Erik/OC fics, but yours is by far one of the best I've seen. Nora is delightful, flawed, and believable. Erik is extremely well done, and I loved the interactions with Chrstine. Very original. I loved this story! |
MajorCurious007 chapter 44 . 4/22/2016 This story gave me so many feels, it only took me three days to read it! You are amazing, my dear. |
EspoirDio chapter 37 . 4/8/2016 Hi! Sooo...you already have so many reviews for this story and you've finished it such a long time ago that I wondered whether or not I should leave a comment. But in the end I had to because I devoured your story in a couple of days. I could not put it down, when I had a few minutes to spare I instantly returned to it and I'm sure that on more than one occasion I even dreamed about it. I am not overly fond of Leroux Erik...I got into Phantom because my orchestra played the score and then the first book I came across (although I knew who'd written the original) was Kay's novel and so that was the Erik that my heart latched onto. When I read Leroux's book shortly afterwards I really didn't like it except for the final two pages. Anyway, that being said I LOVED your Erik which just shows how well you've written him. I came to care about him quite a lot, actually. Nora was a fantastic character to read. Similarly endearing in her detachment from the world and yet her desire to explore and see more of it. Some of your lines were absolutely remarkable and I really wish now I'd written them all down. The two that stood out to me the most were: "But then , really, what was she to him? An unremarkable woman who had walked and talked with him for hours. Meaningless. Insignificant. Wholly unique in Erik's life." and "Here now was that one perfect note. Erik had never heard it sung - not by Christine, or even himself." That last one made me cry and I am not in the habit of doing so often. But how poignant and beautiful! So yes...just thank you for taking the time to write this! I am truly in love! :) |
