Deleted Account 16 chapter 6 . 3/31/2014 OMG! I just discovered you and your stories and I love you! Well then...that sounded weird. I apologize. lol. But anyways. i just read this story through and it touched me! Your writing is amazing, and I am enraptured with the stories. I can't believe Toby was reborn. I knew you were going to do that as soon as the dogs started howling happily, but it was still amazing. Anyways...enough of my blathering. Keep up the good work! :) |
skitternimble chapter 5 . 3/9/2012 Great story Wombaat! I wish I had read and reviewed it sooner. I love how everything is paced, explained, the whole situation just drawing you in and holding you. Let me say something though, as an animal rights activist, I just wanted to smack Demeter upside the head and go into a rant about how suffering is the leveling factor between species and all that other stuff... But that's what makes it brilliant, that it's such an emotional piece that it plays on your emotions and makes you think irrationally, like you can just jump in and solve everything because you want it to work out. Honestly, I don't know how you took something so straight forward and made it so entriguing and captivating, but I'm jealous. |
The Passionate Admiral chapter 6 . 12/19/2011 This chapter was an exemplary conclusion to this fine story. Namid and the other Pollicles seem to be very wise beings. I like that about them. The discussion between her, Munkustrap, Alonzo, and Old Deuteronomy seemed to address everything and nothing was left unexplained. Great work on the dialogue for that part. Alright! Macavity's final dead! That scumbag deserved to die for all the horrible atrocities he's responsible for! I'm just glad Toby (or Tadita) is finally at peace for all he has done. I'm also glad that Demeter has finally gotten over her deeply-routed Pollicle prejudice. The ending was especially adorable. I loved how you ended it with the birth of Jemima and Mistoffelees' son. It's also nice how you had her name him Toby. On a whole, this story was fantastic! I look forward to reading more of your stories! |
The Passionate Admiral chapter 5 . 12/19/2011 This chapter was VERY enthralling. It had excellent tension, finely-depicted battle scenes, and great direction. How nice that most of the younger members of the Tribe have paired up and are expecting. I always enjoy stories that talk about the transition from one generation to another. By the way, I noitced that one of your pairings was Admetus/Etcetera. That's the main pairing in that fanfic of mine I mentioned a little earlier. Macavity's portrayal was pretty dark and disturbing; that's one thing that I found to be astonishing. A battle between dogs. I can only imagine how violent that could turn out. So sad that Toby had to die after being away from Jemima for so long. But at least he had a noble death. That was very commendable on his part (and yours). |
The Passionate Admiral chapter 4 . 12/19/2011 WOW. I wasn't expecting that reaction out of Demeter. To me, she always seems like the quiet, timid, somewhat docile type. To have her fly into a fit of rage and swear her voice away; that was both extreme and surprising. So, I can tell that Toby has really come to care for Jemima. That moment when he attacked Munkustrap was a little nerve-wracking. I always like to hear Old Deuteronomy's sage advice and guidance; his leadership skills are typically rather enjoyable. Although I disliked the penalties given to Jellylorum and Alonzo (particularly the latter's), I have to admit that their sentences were an excellent part of this chapter. It was also a fine example of Old Deuteronomy's functions as the patriarch. I was glad that Jemima took the idea of Toby being at the animal shelter well. I was worried that she would spend a little time sulking. I guess I misjudged her reactions. The ending was sad, and I mean really sad. It reminds me of this one classic film but I can't remember it's name... Oh well, maybe it'll come back to me later. Excellent work as usual! |
The Passionate Admiral chapter 3 . 12/19/2011 I like to see Alonzo's soft side. I know he can be unpredictable at times, but this act of compassion was very good justice to his character. I could just imagine him literally and forcibly dragging Jellylorum to the entrance of the junkyard. The thought of that was just too funny! I'm amazed that they were able to keep the dog a secret for an entire month. That's what I call a real accomplishment! I also like that moment where Demeter was a little flirty to her mate; that was pretty damn amusing. But oh crap; the other adults know about Toby now (by the way, nice name for the dog). I look forward to seeing how this will all turn out! |
The Passionate Admiral chapter 2 . 12/19/2011 I can totally understand how much emotional pain Jemima must have been in. After all, she is well-known for her innocent (yet somewhat ignorant) nature. But she is one of the most beloved characters in the musical. So Macavity DID have something to do with Demeter's stress! Very clever, really. You know something odd? In another of my stories, I also claim that Pollicles and Macavity had something to do with Demeter's reclusive and agitated demeanor. Yet, unlike your fanfic where they work together, in my fanfic, they're hated rivals. However, in "Someone To Watch Over You," I've yet to reveal the relationship between Macavity and the Pollicles. So Alonzo and Cassandra can't have kittens? That's too bad; I think they would have made good parents. I always enjoy it when Jemima and Victoria interact with each other. Even though Victoria and Mistoffelees' backstory was short, I enjoyed it all the same. Alright Mungojerrie/Rumpleteazer! I love it when they're paired as mates! I was actually somewhat surprised by the ending. I didn't expect Alonzo to save the puppy. Then again, I probably should have seen that coming. Great chapter! With the exception of a few grammatical and punctuation errors every once in a while, I'd say you're doing an excellent job! |
The Passionate Admiral chapter 1 . 12/19/2011 I do like this first chapter. The opening was funny and adorable. Too bad Jemima has to put up with a lot just to get a decent night's sleep. I have a good idea as to why Demeter has such terrible nightmares. I like the idea of Munkustrap and Alonzo as brothers, as well as how seriously they take their jobs. So, a Pollicle dog was hit by a car? Shame, even if it was a dog. But Jemima found a newborn pup? That's sweet. Can't wait to see how this turns out. I'd say that overall, your first chapter to your first story was well-executed. It is engaging, consistent, and even a little suspenseful. By the way, I'd like to thank you for reading and reviewing "The Boatswain." I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you're interested, I'm continuing some of the cliffhangers from that story in another of my fanfics: "Someone To Watch Over You." Like your story, that fanfic starts out somewhat bright and fluffy, but starting at chapter 5 (which is where I am right now), it gets progressively darker and more graphic. On to Chapter 2! Great work, so far. |
WanderingGoldfish chapter 6 . 10/31/2011 So sorry it's took me FOREVER to review I jut wanted to do a decent one so waited until I could have both my iPod and the text infront of me to comment on :)) First off, you are excellent at writing slash! You are very good at it and I just felt i should tell you that xx :) and now I do begin to query the suggestion that Munkustrap likes Misto? :L because to be fair it is undertandabke with Demeters behaviour but he is his nephew right? Even though, Jellicles might have a more laid back view on that idk... Xx But at least Munk is begginig to show respect to Misto :) Then in this next scene again you showed Munks respect towards Misto growing more which I liked. But part of mendeels sorry for Demeter because I genuinely think shes becoming worried about losing Munk because she couldn't provide for him in that way... So I'm thinking this may be a reason for her being so stubborn. Moving on Victoria and Plato doing the do I wasn't expecting as such |
Faded Book-Look Within chapter 5 . 10/29/2011 *sniff* thats so sweet:) |
WanderingGoldfish chapter 5 . 10/29/2011 There aren't enough words to describe how good this chapter was! You can tell that you are a military man, simply because the violence, conflict emotions and strategies were all believable and written perfectly. I loved it! Xxxx Emily 3 |
WanderingGoldfish chapter 4 . 10/29/2011 I think this chapter was done very well and that it was the right decision onto what happened to Toby :) but then again being adopted obviously is going to hurt Jem, I hope she's okay with it all xx Can't wait to read more :)xxxx |
WanderingGoldfish chapter 3 . 10/29/2011 Omds... You know what has made me love this story so much more? MY PUPPY IS CALLED TOBY! :D hehheee he's only a little thing and although being 4 months he is the same size as one of my cats, called Sam although to me he is mistofellees because they have the same coat, seriously. Awwwh! This made me smile! :) I live the way you are portraying everyone, and the scene with Munk and Dem made me lol like a mad woman. :D I cannot wait to read more! :)xxx Emily xxxx |
WanderingGoldfish chapter 2 . 10/29/2011 Oh wow! So Alonzo DID save the puppy? :O love this story so much! It's so original :)) xx right, onto chapter 3... ;)xxxx |
