Reviews for Beyond the Blue Frontier
imrae chapter 12 . 10/28/2014
Nice framework for the plot deets.
AresBey chapter 11 . 10/3/2014
Ok...the chapter was way too short...entertaining..but short.
Mr. Riggs, I've have enjoyed your story quite a bit. Question, you mind picking up the writing pace? It's quite infuriating to attempt to enjoy something at a snails pace.
In short, HURRY UP.
TheEpicistGuest chapter 12 . 9/24/2014
I have read both of your other fictions, and have read all of this one. Seeing it updated while lazily browsing made me so happy! Now I am sad. Both for your current state of living and the possible demise of this story.

I propose a compromise! You post the blood and guts narrative, then later on in life slowly peck away at it to refine it into a true piece of art. It's a Win/Win!

I seriously hope life improves for you.
(Note to self, get account if I plan to continue reviewing and leaving comments..)
muzato42 chapter 12 . 9/24/2014
Fuck, man; I was startled and elated to see this had updated, so I took a couple of seconds to settle and straighten my heart and mind. When I clicked the link I was taken to the beginning of this third part and I saw your author's note, believing it was part of the new chapter. Here, I thought to myself, he's setting us off for another year of glorious story. Quickly realizing what chapter it was, I clicked on over for the newness. And I came to find this. Fuck. Fuck it, man. There are too goddamn many awesome stories out there that'll probably never reach the end in our lifetime. So you should just harikiri this bitch and show us its' guts, its' glorious, wonderous, thick to the bursting limits with awesomesauce, guts.
I've been following along this crazy train for over six years now and loving every single moment. I did hate your meandering storytelling style, specifically the whole bathhouse saga which seemed it would never end, but that was probably mostly due to the long delay in between.
All I have left to say is: I love you and I love this story, even if it's going to be an aborted monster of ehat
SandyMandy chapter 12 . 9/24/2014
Hello! I was very sorry to read your last "chapter" and I'd have to say, this is such a huge and fantastic story that I absolutely must know how it will end even though it will be rushed. I would ask you to choose the Xenogears option for the sake of my curiosity and also for my sanity. Thank you for sharing with us this most excellent work, and I will look forward to your updates!
Tykoten chapter 12 . 9/24/2014
I've greatly enjoyed this story, and I've been following it since almost the beginning. I've always looked forward to new chapters of this bold imagining of the Zelda universe. But, sometimes, life hits ya. It has to me, and I've had to abandon some projects. I would really like to see how it ends, so I'd ask if you could do the "Xenogears" method.

I just want to say thank you for putting the time and effort that you have into this. Like I said above, this has been my favorite story on this website ever since I discover it. I hope that things in your life straighten out for the better.
Fulcon chapter 12 . 9/24/2014
Hey, Riggs.

My sincerist apologies if I came after you with only reviews for me in mind. I've always enjoyed your stories and I've never wanted to be rude, so I wanted to get that out of the way.

So, as you may be aware, it has been a VERY long time since I've updated any of my stories...truth be told, that would be because I've left behind fanfiction. I'm focusing on college and other things, like writing an original work (an interesting bit of cyberpunk, actually) and trying to get a girlfriend.

The reason I tell you this is to let you know that I understand completely that writing for this series (five parts? Dang! Tower of Darkness was supposed to be a stand-alone work with a plot formula stripped from the games but YOU were doing something even more exraordinary than I thought) is causing you to waste time on things you NEED to get done, and need time to do. So I completely support this decision and hope we could be friends still.

As for my vote...eh, go for the first option. There's always the chance you'll find yourself fabulously wealthy in a decade or so and be able to revisit the chapter. But that's me, and I only ever count as one vote. :)

Your good friend,
Fulcon
Omega Bowsette chapter 12 . 9/24/2014
Hey Riggs.

It has been a long time coming, hasn't it? I'll admit I love Shadow Dawn, but its girth was always going to be the lone nail in the coffin. I remember reading it when I was fourteen, and life has changed much since then.

I would like to see the summary, even though it won't completely fill the hole in my fanfiction life. My account here exists almost solely to leave commented on Blue Frontier. It would be a treat to see what you had in mind for the story, even if it never really comes around.
Blak chapter 12 . 9/24/2014
The Xenogears option please. It gives some form of closure and there's still the chance that you could finish it chapter-by-chapter.

...

Wow, this is really fucking sad. Sorry to hear this man, I hope everything works out for you.
Lord Darth Yoda chapter 12 . 9/23/2014
Hey as an author of dead fanfics he wished he could finish I fully understand. Sometimes life just gets in the way. But it was a fun ride getting here. I'll forever say that. As for what you should do I'd rake option. 2, at least give us a summarixation of were this would have gone. Way too may plot threads to leave us hanging. Then if you can answer some questions fans might have to clear up that end. I'd be satisfied with that.
Reader chapter 12 . 9/23/2014
I have to say that I would like some closure when it comes to the story. I definately vote for option number two. Compared to possibly having the story finished in some distant future that may not come when I might no longer care, I find having some closure much more appealing.
Creature chapter 5 . 7/24/2014
Damn dude. I know real life is a bitch, but you ever gonna finish this fic?
twokeyz chapter 11 . 7/19/2014
I do hope you update this fic sometime soon again. Simply smashing.

Kinda gruesome in places, but smashingly portrayed.

I'm kinda getting the sense that you're writing this as you go along, because there doesn't seem to be much that would hint to planning beyond this moment. There's some loose threads, sure, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of foreshadowing, hinting of things to come, or other things of that nature that were so prominent in the last fic. Then again, this is months after I read this chapter the first time (I was very impressed), and I'm pining for the next chapter.

Never stop writing.

twokeyz

PS. I'm also really, REALLY tired right now. Morning shenanigans and all. It's seven and I haven't slept yet.
Creature chapter 11 . 4/21/2014
Holey shit, updates? Nice!

So, haven't read this in a while. Then, for some reason, I was inspired to take a looksee and what do you know? But 6 more chapters than there were before. Yay.

I have to say, Iron bitch is one cool mother. I mean, you don't fuck with her. lol

Now, when is Linus going to stop acting like such a panzy and start doing something Link Worthy. I mean, Really? He's going to be a chickenshit again? Haven't we ben here already?

Hope you keep updating. Sence I kow your actually still working on this fic, I'll keep checking back for more.

Great story as always man.

PS:
I just got some real good bud called Great Fairy Kush. Just thought you should know. lol
LocalTalent53 chapter 11 . 3/23/2014
The situation continues to escalate and the stakes grow higher and higher. I'm always pleased to find updates to one of my favorite Zelda epics, and this chapter certainly doesn't disappoint.

My short observations:

-"'There we go!' Mayda purled." Up near the top of the chapter. I'm not horribly familiar with purl as a speaking verb, so this line comes off as a little strange to me.

-Outside of that, there are occasionally minor grammatical errors. A read through aloud should catch them pretty easily.

-I wonder what's shaped Zelda's life to the point where she can give truly horrific death glares? Still banking on the whole "related to the king" speculation.

-Really digging the claws Mayda pulled at the end. Really contributes to that predatory feel she gives off.

All in all, Hylium and Hyrule as a whole are in for one hell of a wake up slap from this. Doubtless that Linus is gonna get tangled up in some dangerous political battles that will further muddle the inevitable physical battles he must face down the line. Things are picking up fast and he better pull his shit together before Hyrule ends up in the hands of Ganon.

Keep up the fantastic work, Riggs! I excitedly anticipate the next update to this installment of Shadow Dawn.
