Enjoyed your writing and your choices in backfilling the story. I agree this episode needed way more than what ended up on the series. Good stuff :)

How to say...it is so beautiful! Describe the feelings of each with regard to the situation (in chapters especially at the beginning), the reactions, you made an enormous work. Really. I liked the chapter where Steve goes towards Fryer to strike him and that Danny has to hold him besides three other agents, I really had the impression to be close and to be afraid in front of the anger of Steve against Fryer.

I liked your story, which is not based on the relation Steve / Kono (in what I understood) and it is very well like that, otherwise the end of the story becomes repetive in the cases where there is a grave accident and one of the characters declares his/her love to the other one in its hospital bed. What would have been able to finish as also, but make it have this end that you put, gets better with regard to the characters. And you keep the atmosphere which there is between them!

I must admit I was a little leary at first about reading this story... while I really wanted there to be an explaination for Steve's uncharactorist behavior(anyones theory was better then the one we have been lead to believe on the show!) I wasn't sure if anyone really could explain it! But of course I have been proven wrong! (Goes to show that my imagination is not that great!) And boy was I wrong! I loved your explaination! It made sense! I could feel my heart breaking for my favorite SEAL when he was talking to Danny and Joe in the hospital!... When he was sinking in the water... I truly loved how this was written! I should of known that I could rely on a writer on this wonderful site could finally explain what the show has failed to do! Great Job! Thank you for writting this! To bad the PTB didn't read it! ;) Two Thumbs up!

I didn’t read this sooner because of the classification of Kono & Steve, I’m totally not into that. But I read “nightmares of memories” and I thought this one was worth checking out after all even though I just can’t see those two together. But thankfully this is not one of those stories! This is a great story about the team, about their struggle after what happened to all of them. If I would give it a classification I would say Steve & Danno, well at least much more than Kono & Steve. But hey that’s just me.

I have no doubt that Steve and Danny both checked on Kono in the weeks after Steve was cleared, I can’t understand all the people who are thinking that they didn’t care. They obviously didn’t see the first season where ‘Ohana’ was established. They would never abandon one of their own and I don’t need to see every little detail on-screen. Yes a little mentioning of it would have been nice, but even without it, I think it’s clear that they both checked on her. And I’m more than certain that she pushed them even more away than she did with Chin.

Anyway loved your story, you’re right everyone has a breaking point and yes Steve is a highly trained and mentally strong person, but I could see something like this happen. You did a great job portraying Steve’s struggle. I loved the scenes in the water with him, that was beautifully written and I think that would be the way for Steve to go. Thankfully he has friends who will help him find his way back.

I almost didn't read this story because I am not a Steve/Kono Shipper, but read the follow up story and decided to give it a try. Enjoyed it alot, and I agree with most of your observations, they needed something like this in the show. Thanks!

Great ending. I like that you give Lori a place and at least a little bit of interaction with Kono and the team. That's so sorely missing in the show.

Just caught up on the last 4 chapters of this excellent story! Very intense and emotional and I'm so glad I didn't have to wait to read any of these great chapters! Steve's dark place is definitely a scary place but I'm glad that Kono, Joe and Danny brought him back out to the light... Thanks for sharing this with us!

Thanks for this great story hon. I've enjoyed every chapter on teh way. You brought Steve from a pretty dark place to realise how strong his family is for him and that they're there for him.

Steve and Kono have both been through some pretty hard times recently and it's good to see a writer addressing some of the possible consequences...thanks!
