Firstly I must admit that, while placing the characters in a high school setting usually results in what one might refer to as utter crap, I find this story to be decent. (This is meant as a compliment)

Next, I take issue with this line; "Some people would say I'm a goth, but if you knew me, you'd know otherwise." It has been very, very clearly stated that Abby is goth. Her tastes in clothing, music, tattoos, and stuffed animals being the obvious signs, that leaves one wondering why you would say such a thing. Excuse me if i'm jumping go conclusions (as this is a touchy subject), but this seems to imply that you think Abby is not a goth because of her bubbly personality and generally perky attitude.

Has it not occurred to you that goths are people to and therefore they must vary in perspective and personality? That maybe not all goths wallow in the darkness, but rather that some skip through it humming gothie tunes and soaking in the darkness from whence they came? Seriously, look up PerkyGoths.

I would love to think this is just you taking your own spin off of the character, but I have encountered far to much of this Oh-but-they're-not-REALLY-goth-because-goths-are-all-so-MOPEY-and-never-smile, laugh,-or-enjoy-themselves(which is just ridiculous if you think about it) attitude to think that.

Well, that turned into a rant. Please don't think I'm trying to be rude. Really all I'm trying to say is please do try to understand a subculture before brushing it off like that, or perhaps just consider the implications of such frivolous statements.

I do apologize for rambling on and on over such a tangent.
