Okay, so, I've been a fan of your TF Imperfection verse for a long time now. I've been checking your author page, waiting for a new story on this arc. At some point recently, I decided to give your new X-Men fics a try. I wasn't really interested in the Shifter verse. It seemed a little outlandish to me, and I didn't really get it.

However, I started on the Shadowside arc, and I was engaged. Opening with the two universes meeting each other was great, and I'd love to see what happens in the future of canon as a result of this brief contact. However, watching this alternate reality is surprisingly satisfying. I've only seen bits of the First Class movie, but I was drawn into this story very quickly.

I love how Charles is staying mostly in character but also growing in different directions because of the differences. And I'm really intrigued by the ways that Erik's darker past and tendencies still show themselves, both in the house and on assignment, but are also tempered by the presence of his makeshift family. I would be really interested to see a story where this issue with the line between good and evil gets addressed more directly.

There's been a lot of talk about Emma Frost, the White Queen, but not much payoff in that regard. If she's a threat or doing something, show us, please! Don't just tell us about it. I would love to see what the fights are like between Frost and Azazel and Riptide. Or let one of these fights be an opportunity for character and power growth in Charles and Erik.

My only caution going forward is that you've foreshadowed a lot of that power growth in both characters, each from the perspective of the other. A few times in the Imperfection arc, it has felt like you've talked about progressions in power but not especially shown them. It made them seem like words only and not actual growth. I really hope you don't do that here. I know it's a really fine line between telling too much to be real and showing too much, such that your audience might not get it. But if you can find that balance more consistently, your great stories will be even better.

Thanks for listening to all my rambling. I do want to reiterate that I do love this new Shadowside arc, much against my expectations, and can't wait to see what you do with these characters next.

I have reviewed a few of your stories and this one now twice; you must be sick of seeing me.

However, instead of a review telling you what a good writer you are and how wonderful your stories are (all true, whether I say it or not), I have a proposal...

Since Erik is convinced that his parallel self is (and I quote) "a self-absorbed, blind, arrogant and irresponsible asshole", how about a meeting between the two couples? Erik Shadowside walks up to Erik Canon and winds up and knocks him flat...and Erik Canon lets him. The 2 Charles then say (in stereo) "Erik we forgive you already stop beating yourself up!" Gotta admit, it's funny and it works on all levels.

And I love that line, by-the-by. It is so Erik...while Charles' thought "::I'd much rather you lived for me::" is perfectly Charles and enough to give me goosebumps.

Finally, thank you for the rapid, consistant and quality updates, as I was all anxious to find out where this was going.

Well finally. Although I like how Erik seemed to think he wasn't currently a co-headmaster. That's a little adorable. Also how they split up the classes, how many has Charles been teaching all this time?

And I've been thinking about it. Since Emma is the big baddie in this world, Erik knowing how to defend himself against telepaths is probably a very good thing. Just saying.

Although how they'll deal with these twins, if it's only getting worse...
