So...yeah. I haven't seen LoK, and I've read both good and bad things about it. (Mostly not so great; I've decided I'm not going to watch it.)
I love Taang! Partly because it fits with Zutara, Sukka, and the other ships I love (although...I can be persuaded to temporarily ship just about anything, but I always come back to Zutara and Taang).

You may have inspired me to work on some Taang! We'll see how that goes (and if I ever actually get it out -_-).

I'll be honest, I decided to give your story a quick glance since I'm a Taanng fan myself and originally I was a bit offput. Always will have a soft-spot for AangxToph shipping but I tend to get picky when it comes to story structure and what-not. I considered dropping this after the first chapter, but after reading the second I decided your story has some charm to it.

It's this latest chapter that got to me though. I agree that there should be more Taang both in fanfics and art, and I've scratched my head at tryin to decipher how and when this ship started to lose its support. I appreciate you doing what you can to keep the ship goin, and hearing what you had to say is making me consider what I can do myself to give it a little more steam. Keep doin your best and maybe I'll leave another comment on your next chapter.

Personally, Taang has always been my favorite ship in this fandom. But I was never really into the fanfiction of Avatar and I accept that cannon didn't go my way (it almost never does. My ships my poor ships.)
I also don't really write fanfic. I have one chapter of what was going to be a 3 book series (maybe 4) up on my profile and just... never wrote more? it was super edgy (i was 14 at the time.) and harry potter based.
It was also a fanfic of a fanfic... yeah it's probably a good thing I didn't write more.
I would definitely love to see more Taang content even if it is not this story.
Personally I like the idea of shipping them as kids and carrying that relationship forward through the war and after. Especially as I was a kid when I watched this show and shipped them even then I was actually 12 when the show first aired. (Well I turned 12 that June it aired in February.)

I sympathize with you. You are absolutely right. I actually stopped reading ATLAB because i couldn't find any new TAANG,AANGZULA, or AANGSUKI It kinda dried up sadly.

Looking forward to it, and agree about Korra and thee comics not holding a candle to the original series.

I picked this up mainly because Taang usually promises Zutara and because Taang is super cute and sweet (though not quite my favourite Aang ship, that's AangxOn Ji, it's very close though, and Toph will find someone outside of the main cast, perhaps Theo or so, in my Avatar ending). And I was not disappointed. I love what you did with Toph, her parents and their relationship, and the Bowling Boulder Brothers are some of my favourite OCs ever.
Your little rant in the last chapte spoke so much truth, and I agree. Taang is running out of content. Of course, where there's Zutara there is usually also Taang, but actually Taang-centric stuff? There's almost nothing. I wish you bests of luck with the Taang conquest!

Glad to see attention brought back to this story though. It did get too lengthy for my tastes in some dialogue points.

Taang is my favorite pairing because of just how in character people write them and how really realistic the relationship can be weather it's teen or adults. It's a pairing that I'll always support and I wish was given more focus on in the show. But the show is old and it will be a long time before anything new comes I'm sure. Toph is my favorite character because of her mouth and tomboy personality. Even with Korra that does not change. She does not care about money or fame, she just wants to be herself and help those that she can. Zuko and Karata are my second favorite and one you can really see becoming something. I'd love to read a story or hell if I ever get the knowledge and skill be able to write one where Karata is the Fire Lady. I'd love to see her go through that and help others in the streets and change their minds, but more importantly even if Taang never became a thing in the future I truly believe that Zuko and Karata can. That's just me though. Taang fan until I fucking die.

Awesome! This was such a badass chapter. I admit, it was a bit odd for Lao to have gone from a jerk to a bit of a crybaby, but it has been four years technically for him which is a lot of time to think. But maybe there could be some flashback where things just click for him. It's fine without it I'm just really pumped after reading this, haha.
I can't wait for the next chapter! You handled all the characters well and it flows very nicely! Keep going with the great work!

Shuga was hilarious. He was a lovely component to Toph’s backstory and it’s definitely something important and worthwhile to read for the story so congrats on thinking that up. (Also Poppy is awesome in this)
In the flashback, you wrote *knock knock* which was the only thing that bothered me. Obviously, that should be written as “she heard a knock at the door” instead. I know it’s easy to get caught up in the middle of these things. I just figured I should mention something haha.
Overall, I loved that little part to Toph’s backstory. It was funny and well-written and important to the plot.

I love how you handle Toph. She would definitely be super obvious with her new bod and it doesn't really change the lovable stubborn Toph we know. Good backstories. Nice flow. Thumbs up.
