i wish Garzhvog had made a joke that Nasuada stalks people at night. Like, the creepy, "Imma Follow You Home" way-but this story is still hilarious!

Awkwardness is the death of the laughs for all involved.

But we're not involved, but naturally this made me grin! But more at Orik's expense then Eragon's, which is unfortunate. After looking sandstone I still don't get the joke, but I'm wondering if you ever intended on the joke ever being gotten.

Ah, well. This doesn't seem to be one of those fics to think too deeply on. I do enjoy the clash of cultures on display here with Orik's routine, but I wonder if there would be some Dwarves in the audience that would appreciate his brand of humor. Perhaps there are, perhaps not, but alas. I think I've said my piece.

Now that I have been briefed, I can fully enjoy this piece of comedy and it is a doozy.

It's truly funny how Roran actually bears a bit of a grudge against Eragon and that he's using a fully-consensual roasting to get it off his chest. "Turn-yourself-in" is really funny, though I wonder if Roran really WOULD suggest that, even in a setting such as this, though hey: it's all in good fun, right?

The insinuations of things done as children is really funny. Did Eragon really sleep with hookers before he turned sixteen, or is this a during-the-books sort of thing? Either way, it's funny. I shall continue this fic with random observations.

IN THE NAME OF CAMARADERIE I MUST APPLAUD YOU IN YOUR CHOICE OF FICCING!

...I also must ask why Eragon isn't talking much in this Roasting. I mean, I don't expect him to cry, especially since this seems to be a part of their culture (an AWESOME part of their culture), but some well placed snark would make this hilarious because comedy is about the reactions had by those both on the giving end and the receiving end...Eragon seems to be mostly reactionless and makes the jokes fall flat.

However, this is one of the best ideas I've heard for someone who likes to snark. A lot. About ANYTHING. Like me. It's a truly unique set up and a great opportunity to really rank up the characterization and give great insight into what makes everyone tick, including Eragon. However, if they hit something that, say, still upsets Eragon, it could sour the mood of the whole set up.

Anyway, these are just first impressions. I like the set up, just make sure you get a strong dialogue going between the riffer and the riffee and this will turn into a master piece for snarkers everywhere.
