That last line is kind of foreboding. Does he plan to drain her or keep her? If he keeps her as I'm thinking is probably his intent, will he change her or treat her as a pet? His reaction leads me to think she's his mate, so I'd hope he'd want to change her.

Oh, and the tense & POV changes don't bother me. The only change I really noted, and it was noted with pleasure, was your change from having them refer to each other in the second person to the third person.
