RavenclawJo chapter 2 . 11/11/2019 Just came across this story and I thought I'd drop a review to say I'm really enjoying it so far. You write very well and I think the characterisations are excellent |
Guest chapter 25 . 4/11/2019 Beautiful. Thank you for the wondeful story. |
Random anon chapter 25 . 3/21/2019 Me again! But this story was lovely - is lovely, I should say. And everything is done wonderfully! Thank you kindly and have a great day! |
Random anon chapter 7 . 3/21/2019 THANK YOU! I was waiting for C.S. Lewis to put a chapter focusing on Hwin and Shasta, they seem to be the same sort of person and and I imagined they got along well! So seeing a bit of that in your fic made me really happy~ |
anone.cho chapter 14 . 10/10/2018 Oh poor dear Aravis.. I don't like that Narnians and Archenlanders even frown upon her curtsey. I think prejudice goes both ways here but only Aravis has to adjust because she is the outsider, intruder, and the weaker. Frowning upon even greetings, that's just plain rude. Asians don't frown upon Western immigrants who don't bow and instead offer handshake to one's superior or elder cuz we respect their culture. I wish Aravis kept her curtsey, showing everyone she is not ashamed of her roots. All cultures have both beautiful and horrid customs. It's pity C.S. Lewis depicted this world so black and white that it borders on Orientallism. |
Dark Rose chapter 25 . 7/1/2018 Just want to say that I love this story. Aravis is one of my favourite characters and I like how this story explores her background and how she grows up in Archenland. I also like that we get to meet Hwin, Bree, Las and her brother again. Thank you for such a wonderful story! |
PSW chapter 25 . 2/10/2017 This was so, so wonderful. It really is the story I have always wanted to read about Cor, Aravis, and Corin (as well as the Horses, I'm so happy they weren't forgotten!). Thanks so much for writing it! |
imketys chapter 25 . 12/8/2015 i just can't stop smilling because of this story |
MaulMachine chapter 25 . 8/21/2015 Excellent. This is one of fewer than half a dozen fix-fics I've read that I truly embraced as holding both no deviations from canon and as a reasonable extension of character. |
BMOLove chapter 23 . 2/11/2015 Well, I never thought I would end up reading Narnia fanfiction, of all things. But here I am. And this story was absolutely delightful and well executed. So thank you. |
E. Peterson chapter 25 . 2/9/2015 LMSharp, THANK YOU for writing this fanfiction. This is the first fanfiction i ever read...and a month afterwards i began to read all the other lovely fanfics out there, as well as your "The Obligatory Self-Instert". Because of you. Your story gave me a good boost, and thank you again. Oh and btw i do not expect a reply to this review. When did you finish this, like, 2011? That was four years ago. NOW here's the real review. Wait, i dont have anything to say cause it's all good. ummm...plz make another one? Oh, and God bless you. |
Ariyah chapter 15 . 7/13/2014 Haha, Corin! Priceless. Inlove how you showed the interaction between the brothers and worked in Cor being the better swordsman. Nice also to see Aravis' character development though, as Brindee said, still with her fault of pride, even if it is lessened significantly. :-) Ariel_of_Narnia |
Ariyah chapter 14 . 6/27/2014 Excellent row. Is it bad to say that I snickered to myself? :-) Corin's scolding was both just so him and so very pointed. I think I actually felt proud of him there. Aravis meeting Fwirra (great name, btw) was a nice little episode. And even though the duke was also at fault, that episode still gave us all a chance to see how much Aravis has to grow yet. And the connection to Ruth was well-played. :-) Ariel_of_Narnia |
Ariyah chapter 13 . 6/17/2014 Baha! Corin was perfect. Poor Cor. I feel his discomfort. I like that he recognized the donkey ears before the rest though. And his protestings to being king one day. Hurrah for more Lucy. And Hwin. I like her. :-) Ariel_of_Narnia (PS: dunno if I'm right, but I have a guess as to the three very special guests mentioned in the author's note. ;-) ) |
Ariyah chapter 12 . 6/15/2014 Poor Cor. All that blushing in one day. I liked the interaction between Aravis and Lucy. It's barely touched upon in the book (and why should it, seeing how the book is Cor's story?). And I loved that Lucy did absolutely everything she could to make Aravis feel at home. :-) Ariel_of_Narnia |
