Reviews for Pandora's Box
For.the.LOVE.of.Severus chapter 1 . 7/20/2016
(sorry it didn't post under my name the first time)
I am in serious awe over this fic, I found myself crying buckets in Gutter Rat and I cried so much in this one too but I laughed just as much. This fic was complicated and I'm not ashamed to say hard to follow at times but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I skipped this and Gutter Rat over a few times because I hate Severus being in so much angst but it kept calling to me until I finally did. I am so glad I did, you did a beautifully epic fiction that is just magnificent. I'm in love with these characters but especially Severus and Quigley because they will both be forever tragic.

Ok so not gonna lie when I first started to read AGRT I didn't even get halfway through the first chapter when I stopped, thinking it was dumb and all wrong (some cannon is harder for me to let go than others). I went and read a couple other stories, but came back for another go. I'm really glad I did because I throughly enjoyed pandora's box. It was really well written with some surprisingly complex ideals.

Although there was one thing I was confused about near the end. This all takes place the summer after fourth year, right? but these last couple chapters harry2 talks about (harrys) Sirius falling through the veil

I read this, a very very long time ago, and I found it again today. T'was just as good as I'd remembered it. Am leaving a review on my favourite chapter of the lot, with my favourite quote - “And what is cheesecake without a cherry topping?” Riddle asked coolly. Why is your Riddle so delicious?
Jimbocous chapter 31 . 12/6/2009
Interesting and surrealistic romp through Potterdom. Certainly a very unique AU. Thanks for a great read!
Midnight Draven chapter 13 . 5/2/2009
um, i really like the first one but is it just me or is this really weird? It seems to jump around way to quickly and everything isso c omplicated and AU that its giving me a headache. Although 1am in the morinig probably isnt the best time to read something s o complicated. So im giving up on this for now, i might pick it up later.
Lunatic of a Third Kind chapter 1 . 7/17/2008
I really enjoy your works, and I've tried multiple times to finish reading through Pandora's Box but have yet to manage it, but...

I just realized that Francis - one of my favorite characters, by the way - has some traits that are oddly reminiscent of Mr. Weasley. Weird of me to think so, but I love both characters and they have a few things in common. I can imagine them getting on quite well...

...But I digress. Please, continue your great writing, your style has something to it that just...hooks me!
Terra4 chapter 12 . 2/22/2008
That dog-like poor soul sends shivers down my spine, or shudders. Great chapter. I love this reality's Draco and Demon!Harry. By the way towards the end of the chapter, you wrote "better alive than dead" and considering you then go on to say killing them was doing them a favor I'm thinking you meant the opposite.
Terra4 chapter 7 . 2/21/2008
The Malfoy haunting part was hilarious! You have a lot of talent.
Terra4 chapter 6 . 2/21/2008
Very much complicated this is... Very much indeed.. It makes you sound so imaginative and smart. And me slow and dumb. LOL. I LOVE IT. Thanks for writing this. I wonder if the little kid is little baby Sevy.. I would, considering it's been eons since I read AGRT.
Terra4 chapter 5 . 2/21/2008
I love it! you're hilarious!

Terra4 chapter 1 . 12/13/2006
I am currently haunting my nephew’s underwear: Oh, my God! Now kindly leave me to the shattered remains of my dignity!: yeah right! And I just have to point out he’s completely unmanageable.

Dead, he tended to be more pleasant to be around with: there should be no ‘with’.

a gutter rat Harry’s great-grandmother had rescued and adopted as her grandson, was still the formable (ex?)-Potions Master of the Hogwarts Dungeons: you misspelled formidable.

I’ll be sure that Voldemort is still wearing them when I string them up: I saw that coming!

You added a couple of fake ingredients: Nice.

Forbodding Harry from opening Pandora’s box because of his ‘unusual ability to a) disobey’ is self-conflicting. But b) is ok.

What are ‘sorts of power’? – when you’re describing the box from Harry’s POV.

What the mirror of rebounds does is actually so unexpected I love it. Yes, I’m re-reading this story.

He walked in a straight line or in a circle. It was impossible to tell which direction he was heading because everything looked exactly alike: how can the fog be the reason he doesn’t get which direction he’s going in? He’d know if he were walking straight.

a fertility holiday? Is that just Harry’s pov or did you forget to mention it in that part about the Dun God Day?

Sorry for all the nagging, I just thought I’d leave a good review. It can’t happen all the time.

So anyway, great story!

Soem thoughts that I didn't express in my chapter 23 review (please look, there's a request there)...

I love the way Harry2 is developed and made into a main character. You've put in the kind of detail that really establishes him as a character rather than a character sketch, if you know what I mean.

And I love ho much you go into being a girl. I mean, all the physicality of it, from balance to emotions to... well, let's stop there. Oh, though I have to add that you got the torturous qualities of clothing down pat.

I love Tom Riddle. Also a well fleshed-out character. Very suave at points. Glad he can still muster up the charming smile. And I smirked every time I heard the references to Francis's mysterious and somewhat suspicious broom death. (Loved the bit where Tom said something like "odd that" and smiled cheerily.)

I'd love it if you did a sequel to this, although I don't know what you'd write about.
deletingaccounttt chapter 1 . 8/8/2006
Jen - you wanted to know why Riddle changed his mind -

well I can't speak for the author, but I would say that it was because when Riddle saw how terrible and how vile voldemort was, he wanted to distinguish himself from him... what he saw of Voldemort affected him enough to change his point of view. I can imagine that if I met my evil self, I'd be motivated too.

Did that make sense?

*looks torn between bemusement and hysterical laughter*

Having read this entire story, I must say that my favorite part in the entire thing is when Voldemort invites them in and asks them to mind the first step a it's a doozy.

*snickers*

Oh, the surreality.

Um. It's be cool if this was done up as a PDF, the title page with your ffnet ID and site link and all that. Then people with dialup can download it all at once and read whenever they want. If you don't mind me doing it, I might do it if I have the time. Please let me know if that is okay.

Absolutely love this story.
