personally I don't think they meant he had no faith in anyone but rather that he was such a rational person that he wouldn't rely on his faith to get him through difficult situations

after all, not every person was taken to that hotel, only few people, because not everyone relies on their faith in dangerous situations, Amy did, that woman and the alien did, too

he has faith in many things, it's just that he is ready to forget about that when it doesn't help him

ah, but what about this, what if the prison that was holding the monster wanted rory to leave? the doctor has been wrong several times, so his reasoning could be wrong... either rory may not have faith in Amy or the doctor or god, but what if he has faith in something much stronger? like love? love can be so enduring and in some cases last nearly lifetimes. so having said that, what if the prison or wven the monster, was trying to get rid of rory because he had too much faith?

good story either way and thought provoking

I love this story and the fact that you explored that aspect of the episode. I hated that episode because it seemed the writer was as dismissive of Rory as the 'monster of the week'.
