Malfoy may regret his actions but he should serve time in Azkaban, and a lot of it, if what Astoria says about him forcing himself on her is true. Hermione did not hold his family against him, but his own actions.

Never liked why JK Rowling wanted to forgive Draco, he should have jailed for few years at least no matter the remorse, can the same could be said to actual criminals no then why he was spared I never understand.

I love the Hermione that you wrotte here. I think she's exploring her sensitive side, that she leaves out most of the time because she has to be the sensible one. She discovered a lot about herself too.

Generally speaking, I am not a Hermione fan. But this Hermione I like. This was very well written. Thank you.

Okay.

Firstly, I would have to start this off by saying thank you for writing this twelve-thousand long Oneshot. I would have to say that I appreciate it, and that it has ended up on my Favorites List for a god reason.

Secondly, I will have to say that this will be an in-depth analysis of each of these wonderful twelve segments, but I may go off into a rant by the time we get to June. I have a lot of problems with Astoria’s mindset in the segment, but will refrain from saying what they are until we reach this particular part.

With that said, let’s get started.

AUGUST: Starting off with a bang, we have Hermione genuinely seeing the logical aspects of the situation.

Which is always good, I’d have to say

Okay, for starters, I have a question. Where is this particular event taking place? Is it at the school (doubtful). Is it at the Burrow? It isn’t through Owl Post, because there is genuine dialogue.

I absolutely agree with Hermione’s reasoning here. The battle, and the prior school year was hard on ALL of the students, but certain ones didn’t go through it, and they would not have the same level of understanding.

McGonagall here is incredible. You’ve absolutely nailed her character, and that is something that I believe that not many can accomplish, no matter HOW hard they try.

Ginny being Head Girl is not something I’ve ever really thought about, but it does indeed make sense. She is definitely the leader/unifyer/example needed for these students.

Huh. Didn’t expect for Terry to get himself involved in this, though I don’t exactly have a problem with it. Little bit sad, though, the way he ended up getting the position.

‘Mr. Avery’ getting time in Azkaban makes sense here, but I may or may not bring it up later in example with a certain problem I have with Astoria and Nott.

SEPTEMBER PART I: Alright, this is where I’m going to have to divide this section into two parts. The one with Astoria and the one with Theo.

This is not the place where I have any sort of issue with Astoria, for that will come when she starts talking about Draco. Here, I actually believe her reaction to Edgar is justified.

While I understand WHY Edgar reacted in the way he did, it doesn’t mean that I approve. I am completely on Astoria’s side here. The POINT of them being Prefects is to UNIFY the four houses, not turn against them.

Astoria’s speech is POWERFUL, driving. She is determined to prove that her house isn’t ‘scum’, that they have good apples and bad apples.

If someone is going to enact their revenge on someone, then they should better find the people who wronged them and give them a fair trial. Then it becomes justice, .

Or at least that’s how I see it.

I wonder if Ernie and Hannah flinched with the others. Wouldn’t they still be Hufflepuff Prefects?

And once again, Hermione still makes sense.

SEPTEMBER PART II: I can already tell that this Review is gonna be long, but that doesn’t mean I care.

Gee, what a surprise that Hermione doesn’t know Astoria’s name. Not to come off as rude or anything, but she really doesn’t remember that many names or their personalities.

Only the people who have impacted her in some way.

I don’t blame Hermione for her hypocrisy here. Sure, she shouldn’t be saying such words when she doesn’t entirely believe them herself, but Draco and Bellatrix wronged her in an unspeakable way. That would indeed take a long time to forgive.

For Theo on the other hand . . .

NO.

Just . . . No.

Fear, Guilt, and Regret are the very three words that comprise of this segment. It shows how the Notts became the way they were, no matter the amount of words it takes for it to be told.

However, that is just it. Theo still tortured. He still listened to the Carrows.

And that is the problem.

To bring back up ‘Mr. Avery’, he should have gotten a trial. Yet, from his words, it appears that he didn’t.

Astoria did not need a trial, for she did nothing wrong in that regard. But no matter HOW much Theo regrets his actions, or the guilt eats away at him, I cannot bring myself to forgive. Forgive and forget, they say. But we don’t SEE people that have been victims by Theo’s actions.

And that is my problem, and it has nothing to do with him being a Slytherin or him being ‘the way he is’. No, my problem is that we aren’t given evidence of his punishment, minus the parts that he self-inflicted upon himself.

And although the rift between the houses should seal, it shouldn’t by the way that Theo talks about it.

But, I will say that I do enjoy his apology. I just think he should have to work for it a bit more, that’s all.

The way it ends is vague, but it’s okay. Because this truly was the way to end it.

OCTOBER: This, THIS has to be one of my favorite segments, purely because it’s bittersweet, almost. It makes you sad, it doesn’t remove the war’s bleakness, but the fact that Terry’s telling Hermione about the people she never bothered to get to know is just sweet.

And, unless in an apocalypse novel, I usually don’t say things like that.

And I LOVE Hermione’s request here. It shows that she truly does want to get to know everyone else, and her statement about ‘isolation’ really goes along with the things I constantly think about with this fandom.

Also, the statement Terry makes about himself makes me sad. That’s all.

As well as the fact that this is partially how I view what happened to Anthony Goldstein in my Headcannons.

And, what we end it with is the truth. Because Hermione isn’t just here to finish her schooling, no.

She’s here for SO much more.

NOVEMBER: Time for Hannah!

I love McGonagall’s reasoning, and the DA actually becoming part-time teachers is just great.

I . . . Actually don’t have much to comment about Hannah, but I do like the fact that they’re wondering about their futures.

DECEMBER: Gah. Dennis just makes me sad. Losing his brother and exiled by his family? Yikes.

And, indeed, Hannah was right.

JANUARY: I’m glad that Hermione is acknowledging her flaws in the situation, and I do believe that this is a better way of her to agknowledge her guilt about being the ‘Hogwarts Counselor’ than Astoria did. Then again, perhaps I’ll change my mind.

FEBRUARY: Ginny and her internal conflicts really make the segment, especially with her troubles in a particular subject that she cannot drop.

MARCH: My main question here is about Lavender’s return: why DIDN’T Ginny tell Hermione about her return? It doens’t exactly make much sense.

I like the fact that, while Lavender acknowledges what she does wrong, she still has her regrets and her efforts to change really reflects that. I’m glad that this war gave maturity to these teens. I really am.

Also, you did a very good job of showing her change. I’ve seen many different perspectives of how this change occured, but I definitely enjoy this version.

APRIL: Huh. Why are you talking about ZACHARIAS SMITH of all people?!

I digress, however, because this is a well-organized section of guilt.

Although it is canon that he left the battle as a coward, his regret here is much better fit for the situation. You can see his struggles over his morals, his questioning of war and the struggles and rifts that it causes.

And, for what it’s worth, it’s good writing.

I think what Hermione’s choice of words here can be said for anybody feeling such a thing.

And the ending of the segment is my favorite part. Just because how SUBTLE the Thanks is.

MAY: Dang it, Ravenclaws! Stop breaking my heart!

Yes, what a surprise. My favorite of the four houses just so happens to contain most of my favorite segments.

I feel so SORRY for Luna. I never really thought that her father died in Azkaban, or even the possibility. And killing Dean too?

Wow. I’m glad I found another RUTHLESS author.

But I still love the realistic aspect of Luna’s character.

JUNE: The moment you’ve all been waiting for.

Look, I have to bring back my prior statement about trials. Because no matter HOW much remorse that Draco Malfoy feels for his and his family’s actions, he should have gotten a punishment.

ESPECIALLY for the fact that he has TWO ATTEMPTED MURDERS to be charged with.

I don’t care how he’s changed. And yet I do. I understand HIS reasoning more than Astoria’s, for he is at least ACKNOWLEDGING his actions and wanting punishment from them.

But there’s a price to be paid, and he has to pay it.

And, look. Here’s my problem with Astoria. I don’t care if he’s ‘hurt her too’. I don’t care she thinks he deserves forgiveness. She doesn’t believe he needs to pay for his actions. Which, indeed, makes her a hypocrite.

She believes that Hermione’s anger for Draco being a bystander doesn’t make sense, but she’s not saying that he should be punished for it.

I get that she’s prideful, but it gets on my nerves of how she’s calling out Hermione for being something that the latter has acknowledged before, but she’s not calling out herself on it.

Although I do particularly like how the segment is resolved, it just . . . Irks me a little.

JULY: This, THIS is a beautiful conclusion.

The boats to the Train Station, the way that Hermione contrasts her imagination of the end of her seventh year to the real version, the fact that the characters who play large roles in the fic are the very ones to end it . . .

It’s brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

And the way you tie it all together with Hermione and Terry once again talking about what happened in October, and the last line.

I love the last line because it gives an incredible ending to a school-year, to Hermione’s education.

I just . . .

I really, really enjoyed this story. It was a journey of healing and discovery, and it felt so completely natural. I loved it!

Beautiful. Oh my, so so beautiful. I love it! and the Luna part is definitely the best. She's 100 per my favourite HP character...

An excellent story, so much fun delving into Hemione's mind.
My only gripe with it is that sometimes the dialogue is a bit forced. Especially in the first prefect meeting, Astoria and Hermione's lines don't sound like the way people actually speak.
Still, very much enjoyed it, keep on writing.

Malfoys only deserved forgiveness after emptying their vaults for reparations and having Lucius chucked for life in Azkaban.

Draco should at least serve enough sentence for two attempted murders on Katie Bell and Ron Weasley.

With respect to Theo Nott, if he was serious about his guilt, then he should cough up at least 1000 galleons and serve 1 month in Azkaban for every second he crucioed his fellow students.

Anything less is a shame to the legal system and an insult to their victims.

Justice must be served before forgiveness.

I hadn't read this one before, and I'm not sure how I missed it. I love looking at Hermione's last year, as it would have been so different from everything we experience with her up to this point. So many people assume that, after the war, things would be healed. I mean, that's what the war was fought for, right? But of course it can never be that simple, and I loved how well you fleshed out the complexities and consequences of the war.

This is amazing. I love how you've written this realistically, including the trauma they must have gone through fighting in a war, how they coped with it, and the way Hermione struggled with forgiveness and helped the others, eventually finding some closure herself.

Long fic, but totally worth it. I totally don't know what to write, so I'll just say: Nice job!
