I love this. Anxioussquirrel turned this very same prompt into a wonderful multi-chapter fic, but your story is just as beautiful. Kudos!

Interesting, but I guess I have a little more respect for human spirit. Question: is this "system" world wide? Or are parents refusing to move their families out of the country in order to give freedom to their gay children? This is even more insidious than segregation and the Japanese internment camps in that these are children whose own parents (not neighbors or whatever) are enforcing legalized rape/prostitution, sex trade, possible physical abuse and more. This is going to sound ethnocentric, but I can only go by the context of the story... Having the history of Manzanar, the Holocaust in Europe...I cannot see people supporting or even tolerating this There would have to be SOME families where the parents refuse to force their children. I would have thought of Burt doing that: "No one pushes the Hummels around." Burt would fight an unjust law. It's an interesting concept; I might object less if there were more of a reason why the kids and their families tolerated it. And forcing someone to be a particular role, when in heterosexual families the dominant partner varies. The writing is well done, as are the characterizations. I would just include a better reason than "because I say so."

Miss this story, update soon?

I loved this whole story-the Blaine and Kurt part so sweet and hot. But most of all I wanted to tell you how much I loved the Brittana chapter, because it's not as easy to find great Brittana fics. It was heartfelt and real and made me tear up, and then the ending was just beautiful.

I love these stories. I appreciate the parallels you are showing between this verse and our own world. No matter what rules or conventions that society holds to hem us in, people will always keep trying to find love, to have moments of happiness. This line breaks my heart, "For you. I'll pretend for you."

Anyways. I'm not sure if you take prompt-like things for this, but I kind of want to see what had happened when Blaine first kind of re-met Kurt's family, and how they reacted to them actually being happy and all that. You know, how lucky they had been to actually, surpisingly be in love and having the ability to live a good life. I don't know, if it was possible, I would definitely read it. :)
