Reviews for The Escape of Haruhi Suzumiya
HurricaneKatty chapter 7 . 12/2/2011
Hey, I am both amazed and disappointed that this story does not have more reviews!

Your story is certainly gripping, and has had me hooked from the first chapter. While there are some grammatical mistakes, it's nothing that detracts from the story. I'd love to see you finish it

My first Haruhi fanfiction and i am not dissapointed. I do have to wonder why it only has 14 reviews.

You are under appreciated. That much is clear.

I have read fanfics that almost made me want to throw up, yet they still had hundreds of reviews.

No matter what continue this story. You have a die hard fan now who will be dissapointed if it stops.

You are a very talented writer and I would love to work with you on some projects at some point. I have a project in the works at the moment with another group of writers, but your talent and potential is very great.

Please continue this story.

P.S. If you are a woman I love you. If you a man I admire you(not in a gay way though).

This is overall a good, serious attempt at writing a convincing story in the Haruhi-verse, and the strengths are the same as I have mentioned earlier.

The punctuation is better, though not perfect, but there's still a certain amount of sloppiness present. Missing apostrophes, typos (the very common error of writing Haruhi as 'Harhui' is a particularly egregious one) and even garbled words (e.g., 'revenant' should be 'relevant') abound.

On the stylistic level, the story seems to be very dialogue driven. While the characters are relatively close to their true personalities at the moment, their voices are lacking most of the idiosyncracies, making the narration feel somewhat plain. I am especially missing Kyon's somewhat oblique internal monologue (with all those peculiar similes) that is the source of most of the humor in the original novels.

In summary, it's a good fic and getting better as it goes, but there's still a long way to perfection. However, I appreciate the earnest striving for that goal.

Brilliant chapter, well worth the wait. I look forward to the next update.

Its like my favorite TV show is played and it sucks to just watch one episode.

This is one of the most exciting storys ever. I just love it. I would even pay for it ;-)

Kyon is great. He is like a real person from real life. No super power or something like that and he gives it all. Haruhi is also very adorable.

Yuki was my star in this chapter. "I never lost you," was just awesome.

great work

kyon and haruhi on the run is a very good idea. please continue
Nachtprophet chapter 4 . 10/7/2011
This is very, very good. Probably one of the best 'Haruhi learns the Truth' storys ever. Please continue your work.
SlayerOfTears chapter 4 . 10/6/2011
lol One day I hope to see Kyon and Haruhi be able to at least spend some nice time together and actually get to understand each other.

A few spelling errors, and missing apostrophes but that's about it.

It's actually very difficult to explain how a bike works in Physics.
Anmynous chapter 3 . 9/28/2011
Very good! Chapters might be a bit long, but since this is how it is now it's probably better to stay consistent.

Roman gods?... Well, I guess they're the same as the Greek gods, who are the ones I usually think of with selfish gods, so maybe it's just a matter of which you're used to.

There's a "defiantly" instead of "definitely" somewhere in there, and Kyon's "uhm...yeah" isn't capitalized, but still, hardly any technical problems. Great work!
Anmynous chapter 2 . 9/22/2011
I still don't really like the interpretation of Kyon as oblivious, though maybe it's not so strongly hinted at in the anime that he knows.

But given that as a premise, this is good stuff. I'd put more emphasis in when Kyon notes that their relationship is BASED on keeping Haruhi in the dark, since that seems pretty unhealthy for a relationship.

Do like him asking for more time and then giving a good justification in how unlikely those manga scenes are.

Oddly, around halfway I noticed there's no punctuation at the end of most spoken sentences, but before that point I hadn't had a problem with it... not sure if it warrants changing to the more common way of ending them with a comma (like ["Again...I'm sorry," I said.] ).

Not sure if the IDSE are even capable of talking with the Domain, if what they required of Nagato in book 9 (I think it was 9 at least) is any indicator. There's a typo right after, Kyon asks Nagato "WHO do you feel about this"
Samuez chapter 1 . 9/16/2011
If I were to pick up a random dialogue to read during the conversation, I would have no idea who's talking to who. It's hard to keep track of conversation like that, at least give us some name to add to that along with some of their expression.

And whatever the first review say about it. It's hard to like a OC that no one heard of in the opening. And I didn't like the opening at all, just pure dialogue for the next half the page

However, It's good that you write Haruhi fanfiction, not many do anymore. But quantity over quality simply doesn't work out that well in fanfiction
