I've just finished rewatching Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead mere minutes ago, so that makes this story extra painful, but even more beautiful as well. I love the idea that the Doctor, River's Doctor, comes back one last time to say goodbye to her.

Sooooo good! Love that you had *her* Doctor visit her. That was a nice touch, and I'd like to think that does actually happen :(

since LKH it seems popular to complain that River is completely dependent upon the Doctor, that every decision in her life revolves around him.

I don't really get why people thought that after LKH, we knew from River herself that he had tremendous, perhaps even terrible influence upon her.

I think River has made her own decisions in life, certainly influenced by the Doctor, but still her own decisions.
