This is one of the most beautiful stories I've read to date. the imagery and dialogue is captivating, and the personalities of the characters, from Laura and Remy to Logan and Jubilee, is flawless. What really sold this story for me, however, was the way you showed Laura's subconscious and how she viewed herself and the world, not only through her dialogue and inner thoughts, but in the way you described the scenery, like when the kite was stolen by the wind, or when Laura and Logan watched the sunrise. I am a huge X-23 fan, and I am very happy to see her character done justice. Once again, a truly beautiful story.

The imagery is beautiful, the shuffling between past and present, you're really good at this. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

I adore the X-23/Gambit relationship, but they are hard to come by in fics (let alone good ones!) but this was brilliant, I'm a big fan of it and I really hope you pick it up again sometime :) you're a wonderful writer.

This is an amazing story. I've been looking around for some good bonding fics about Gambit and X23, there is not much. But this stands out as an awesome example of what I was looking for. I love how you show the relationships between the characters, especially Remy and Laura's. I have always seen them as kindred spirits, since they are both people who exist on the fringe of the Xmen as well as having terrible things in their lives. You deserve a heck of a lot more reviews for this.

Wonderful story! The characterization is perfect, it feels like reading the comics, only deeper. Please write more of this stuff, this is an amazing read!

I love this story, you have captured all the characters perfectly especially Gambit and Laura. The last two chapters were pretty heart-wrenching, poor Gambit the things he has to go through.

Laura's reactions were really spot on and the relationship she's developing with Gambit is well expressed and I can't wait to see what happens next. Please do not end it here.

Recently got into the X-23 comics and I can't really explain it but this matches the artwork so beautifully

I haven’t read the segment in comics with X and Gambit, I haven’t been able to go for the comics for some time, but now I’m thing that I should check it out.

And I like the agelessness of Gambit, subtle.

Wow, this is insanely good. I love Marjorie's work on the book, but this captures the in-between moments so nicely (including the "what might have happened"s).

And you do indeed get this feeling from Laura... that there's so much she doesn't say but so much that she thinks or feels.
