Yeah you got the right translation for the French except "con" is more than stupid. It's stupidity with aggressiveness when used in that context (as an insult I mean). And it's rude, like asshole or shithead I think.

Egad! There goes a wonderful story. Truly, captivating and enthralling. I desperately wish for nothing more than to see Mycroft and Sherlock find a good home, job, and someone who cares for them. Great portraying of the characters though, specifically with Angelo and Lestrade. I haven't read many stories with Angelo, but this one I certainly like. And even though to the boys Lestrade may seem like the villain, he is really on the same side. To see how much those workers cared about Mycroft and Sherlock was endearing. I understand that you may never come back to this story. I cannot understand why, but that's because I don't know. This story was nice as it lasted, though. I hope you can find the time to continue it, but if not, it is what it is. Truly wonderful writing, finished or not.

This is a very good story so far, and I really wish you'd update this even if you haven't in such a long time.

I just love your young Sherlock and Mycroft. Particularly Mycroft. He tries to do everything himself and sometimes it doesn't work like that. They are awesome. I think the first scene with the beating is slightly melodramatic in the first paragraph or two, though.
I really love Angelo and Lestrade. The prostitute scene was sort of humorous at the start, and then a sort of dawning horrified realisation that Mycroft was actually so desperate he might've done sex-work to get money. :(
Overall, they really make you root for them. They're really plucky, but not so plucky as to be unrealistic.

I'd like to see another reference to the conversation with Missy,
after they have to run off Angelo's because of Lestrade, where
Mycroft finds the number again and calls it, and perhaps even
gives it a try. Something would have to happen though,
a game changer. Maybe Sherlock gets hurt, or attacked, or something.
At some point he'll wind up trying drugs, maybe while Mycroft's
gone being an escort. Also, whatever happened to Anthea meeting
them once a week at Charring Cross? Maybe they get separated.
Oh! Another possible game changer, a string on Sherlock's
violin snaps, and they don't have the money to repair it.
