Not sure if you still read and reply to reviews, but thought I'd write one and ask questions anyway.

While I do like the implications in the story (i.e. Edward not wanting to live without Bella, Bella choosing a normal life and leaving Edward), I was a bit confused on how they came to be. So Charlie was killed and Bella decided that she didn't want to be immortal/ live with Edward? So the Cullens moved and left her?

Secondly, I was confused regarding the line, "he was seventeen too." I feel like it's supposed to mean something bigger but I cannot figure it out. Does it refer to his heartbreak? Refer to hie physical age?

Anyways, this was nice to read. Carlisle's voice came through clearly and reasonably. Great job writing!

That was truly amazing. I love the retelling. I love the little tidbits about the annulment papers in his underwear drawer, and the part where they'd moved across the country but that the house still faces west - towards where Bella resides. I think my favourite line is "If he is not a father, he is a sire, and Edward is his responsibility to the end." It was heartbreaking, how life goes on - Esme in the garden, the waves lapping when someone is in such turmoil. Your writing from Carlisle's perspective was dead on. I really felt him through your words. Well done and thank you for writing.

wow! This was so tragic, and so perfect! Edward got exactly what he thought he wanted, and it is killing him one day at a time. At first I was shocked that Carlisle had agreed to end Edward's life when the time came, but the way you explained it, it made perfect sense.
