i was encapsulated, really beautiful, and exactly how i imagine it would feel if it happened to me to have a loved one in hospital, really nice, the sink, the subtlety of as "she" turned the water red. really nice.

Great story. I particularly love the imagery of him not wanting to wash her blood from his hands as if he's giving her up. But he can't go around bloody forever!

Good job at your first fanfic :) You did a great job capturing the emotion Castle was feeling as he was int he waiting room. I like how it was Lanie who convinced him to wash up. I also liked how Castle connected washing Kate's blood of his hands to losing Kate altogether. Very sad but a great touch! I look forward to reading any other fanfic that you may write in the future!

I loved this one shot! I loved how you managed to make breathe into a mantra. I loved the visual imagery you contrast. I loved the black suit to white walls in the waiting area. The same black and white color scheme in the bathroom too. I loved the idea That the washing the blood off his hands was like saying goodbye.

I loved how Lanie got him a cup of Coffee. I loved how Rick then associated the coffee with her. I loved the resolution to bring Kate coffee every morning if she survives. Too Funny! I loved how the waiting got too much for him. I loved how he left. I loved when he came back he was met with a much relieved Jim Beckett. I loved this last line. "At last, Richard Castle could finally breathe." Thanks for such an emotional one shot. Kudos to your writing skills!

Lovely. Great mood piece. I especially like the connection Castle feels to Kate's blood. It would be the only thing he would have left of her if she died. I also like how you handled the ending. No need for the surgeon's assessment. We see what Castle sees as he enters the waiting room, and the only thing he needs is to hear those five words.
