Haven't seen the anime, but have been reading the manga(s) ,and waiting for the english dubbed dvd's to come out in february ..

Oh my god it was so happy and beautiful and this is just going to be my head canon now, mmmkay? Sad angsty sadness what? Clearly this is the real continuation of Tiger and Bunny.

I don't read Shounen-ai on principle but will make the exception if it is particularly well written. I have to say that yours is one of the best examples of the genre I've ever seen. I've read so many angst-driven Kotetsu fics that it was a welcome relief to see him as the dorky chap I grew to love. Your description of him as a "middle-aged, widower superhero with the heart of a ten-year-old fanboy" suited him perfectly and you had all of his wonderfully quirky nuisances down to perfection. I had to laugh out loud over the dialogues being said aloud and those privately pondered. I loved Barnaby's parents (more than I could ever like Barbaby himself) and their final dialogue at the end cemented my appreciation for this great story. Ah, mother's always know the truth, don't they?
