Oh my god what a gem of a story, I could not for the life of me figure out how a confrontation between Melissa and Derek would go, and I think you hit on the ONLY way it could have gone. The characters were perfect, the dialogue was authentic, funny at the right spots, this could easily have been an actual episode of the show. Melissa McCall is an underused character in these fics, and I have never tried to write her seriously myself, but now I'm kind of in love with the idea and I know she will be making more appearances in my future fics (I want to write a showdown between her and Mrs. Argent lol, battle of the SuperMoms). This was inspiring and one of the very few top quality stories I have ever read on here. You should definitely pursue writing full time!
