Dominus Tenebrosus chapter 8 . 10/26/2012 Rolling Commentary: Hey! All's well that ends well. Though, I suppose the first paragraph isn't the end, is it? :P Hmm... What's going on here? Why'd he pick her up, exactly? Well. That's... Not much, is it? Heh, so she never met Big M? Heh. And it almost worked, too. Except, of course, that, well... He's the Doctor. Hmm, the truth about the disease is beginning to come out... Groovy. Man. Have to give it to him, his plans are far reaching. 'course, given that 'es a time lord... That's right. It's M's fault. But she didn't. All is well. Heh. D'aww. She is, don't worry bro. Tea solves everything. Truth. So do doorbells, though. See? Everything's alright. Well, mostly, anyway. Get a few burgers, she'll be alright. Aww... Heh. Now I can say that all's well that ends well. General Thoughts: Well, that's a good end for a good story. :) Mind you, it's something of a foregone conclusion, but still. Good show. :) If anyone's reading this review and trying to decide if they should read this story or not, I say read it. It's good. :D |
Dominus Tenebrosus chapter 7 . 10/25/2012 Rolling Commentary: Suddenly, I'm confused about what's going on. Who's stepping out of the TARDIS? ...The rest is pretty clear, but still. The Doctor is a pretty fast guy, dodging boolits and all. :P Hm. Though... Are they spectral, or is she? Hrm. Kinda guessing it's her, then. What does that mean, though? Hrm... Come now. Obviously, that's the Doctor. Lashing out wouldn't be helpful. Hm. But what has he done, then? Hmm... What's going on here? Who are these two arguers? Doubtless canon people, and doubtless my canon dis-familiarity is not doing me any good here. ...Well! Didn't see that coming. ...Man. Fever dreams? She's having some... Really weird ones, if so. You know, if you wish to fight the dreams, not sleeping is the way to do it, dearie. Well gee thanks, Doctor. Even if you're fever dream Doctor. Either way, now I'm positive I know who's perspective this is being told from. Obviously because BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! *cough* Sorry. The power of his voice compels you! Ah, very good, very good... Don't know what he did, but this seems like an improvement. D'aww. General Thoughts: Well, it probably should have been obvious to me from the onset who was being talked about, but... It wasn't, so hrm. Became obvious with time, though. Either way, hey! Happy ending. Though, heh, the story isn't quite over yet, is it? But the worst has passed. :) Me likey. ;) |
Dominus Tenebrosus chapter 6 . 10/21/2012 Rolling Commentary: Hmm, who's perspective is this? Ah, must be the good Doctor's. Or... Not? Hrm. I'm a bit confused. Heh. Wonder what he suggested. Well. Immaterial, I suppose. I... Wait, what? Well, that only serves to confirm my suspicion. Heh. Though... Hm. It also makes things more confused in ways. Why does the Doctor have that reaction? I'm puzzled too... But not very puzzled, thinking more into it. And hm. What does he remember? Hm. But will he? Or is this just a temporary thing? Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I'm feeling it's a temporary thing. Yes sir, Mr. Burns. Hm. Still say the guy ain't dead though... Maybe some mental communique? Hrm. I wonder if you understand fully, Doctor. Now, who killed him, L? It wasn't him. Oh dear... Well. Hm. That complicates matters, doesn't it? Or... Hm. Heh. Maybe it simplifies matters some. Interesting. General Thoughts: Well we got some back story as to what's happening. As we're this close to the end though... Hm. I feel everything will be settled up in the next chapter, but I find myself wondering which direction things will go. Still, the Doctor has a plan. Of course, he always has a plan, so eh. But will it succeed... Hmm... Well. We'll find out next chapter! Good stuff as always. :) |
Dominus Tenebrosus chapter 5 . 10/20/2012 Rolling Commentary: In the _hour_?! Crimony! Man. Poor guy. And again, poor guy. Poor gal. Man. No one's having a good day there. /waves goodbye at fragment of hope Humm. So she knew this Mr. L? Heh. Begs to question who is mad and who is sane. Yeah. Or if you do, play chess or something, it's safer. Physic paper? Is that a typo? And if so, of what? Psychic would sort of make sense, considering what he's doing with them. Not sure what else would go there, hrm. Heh. You may have been there the whole time, but it's easy money to guess you still know what's happening. Heh. Discretion. Right. And c'mon, Doctor. You know you want to. :) Perfect, eh? Perfect for causing a roaring rampage of revenge? Better than planned, or worse? Careful about who you're dealing with here, mon. Hm. Curi- Oh wait. Ah. The only one that could get away with something like that. I see. Bet I know who Mr. L is! General Thoughts: So, we finally start to get a few answers this way! Good, good... Suspect we'll get even more answers in the next chapter. *nods* Now, here's the pertinent question: Does he get helpful answers? Or is she, well, doomed? Hm. Good stuff. :) |
Dominus Tenebrosus chapter 4 . 10/13/2012 Rolling Commentary: Man. Poor Doctor. He's handling it well I guess, but... Yeah. Hm. I thought he knew who the one guy was... And no, I doubt that it's good news at all. Hrm. Well I'm not surprised that he understands the message, anyway. Apparently a little more than just a madman... Were I to guess, some sort of oracle. Hm. Was that the project mentioned in chapter 1? Hmm... Not surprised at all to see that coming up again. And... Worried Doctor scares me, just a bit. Hrm. Icy cold to burning hot. That's... Not good. And again... Poor Doctor. Hm. He must be distracted to be caught by surprise like that. Don't see it happen that often. ...Hrm. I wonder what the price his idea is going to have... Hrm. That's... Hm. Ominous. So only when he... Hrm. Well, that pretty well proves that it's what he was talking about earlier, I suspect. Hmm... General Thoughts: ...All the feels, man. There's not a bit of this chapter that isn't in some way ominous. The message, the project, the reactions... Yeah. Sheesh. I wonder if she makes it through. I have to sort of wonder... Good stuff as always, even if it's ominous as all get-out. :P |
Dominus Tenebrosus chapter 3 . 10/11/2012 Rolling Commentary: Huh. This chapter is shorter than I was expecting. Well, no matter. :D Hm, do they really count as a boy if they're 21? :P ...Ah, who am I kidding. Hmm... Boss goin' daft. That's ominous. Hmm... Speaking of mad guvs... Heh. Suppose calling for backup is probably standard procedure... Though it seems inane in this context somehow. ...Hrm. Who _is_ this guy, anyway? The name is meaningless to me, possibly due to my relative lack of knowledge of the fandom. ...Hrm. Does he even know who to deliver that message to? ...Somehow, I feel like he does. Man. What a message, too. Man. What's the holdup on his backup, anyway? Hrm. General Thoughts: Short, sweet, and a bit confusing. I get the sense this will make sense later, but right now it just makes me go, "what." Also, panicky guard is panicky. Good stuff. :) |
Dominus Tenebrosus chapter 2 . 10/8/2012 Running Commentary: Hmm... Well there's the fallout from chapter 1, anyway... Humm... Since Pompei, you say? Well, the doctor's on the case, shouldn't be a problem in the end. Yep. Definitely going to be alright in the end. The doctor's good like that. ...Except in rare cases involving Daleks. "Time worked in strange ways, sometimes." -Heh. You wouldn't think that'd be an issue for a time lord. C'mon Doctor, you're supposed to be genre savvy. If you see something like that and think it's gone, well, then it very obviously isn't. Well, good effort trying to comfort him, doubt it'll be much help though. Hm. Maybe warm up some water for some warm water bottles while you're at it? Under the circumstances... Humm. The last few paragraphs, looks like the quotation marks got torn off of 'em somehow. And yes, if there was anyone in the world, it'd be the Doctor. General Thoughts: Mildly surprised to see the Doctor in denial about what's going on. Because it almost certainly is what he's talking about. Which he also seems to know, but, yeah, denial. Hm. Well, hopefully he knows what to do about it... But the way he's talking about it, hrm. Ominous. Either way, I'm liking it. :) |
Dominus Tenebrosus chapter 1 . 10/7/2012 I'd like to start by saying that my familiarity with the fandom isn't the greatest. Even so, that shouldn't matter too much. I've been doing something different with reviews, namely giving a sort of 'rolling commentary' while reading, then summing up with some general thoughts. If that's a problem, just let me know. :) Rolling Commentary: Hmm... Based on the summary, and that first paragraph... Oh, this is gonna hurt. Well this project seems ominous. Particularly given how little she liked what she's heard. Feeling incredibly old. The downside of being a companion there, I think. Uh-oh. No, no I'm positive it's not just imagination. Genre blindness. Always grab something bludgeony and investigate. Black cats. Bringers of bad omens for time immemorial. Surely this will be no different. ...Hoo boy. Don't listen. Make like it, then dial 911 very quickly. ...Yeah, that's ominous. I'm reminded though of the one episode... I'm afraid I only half remember it, has the gas masks? No where to run? Then attack! ATTACK! Seriously, attack. Attack? :/ Or, that could happen I guess. Yeesh. General thoughts: ...Well, that's certainly one way to start the chapter. I can't help but think that the project and the events there at the end are related. Mainly because I don't think you'd mention them elsewise. :P I like this. :) Even if it's "not your best work". :P |
darkaccalia520 chapter 8 . 5/10/2012 What an awesomely awesome end to an awesome story. The conversation between the Doctor and Sarah was just perfect. It was so sweet...so lovely. I truly enjoyed. :)And, then, when Luke saw his mother again, that was beautiful! I just loved how you did this. I'm kind of sad to see it be over, especially since there aren't too many stories of yours I haven't reviewed. Oh, well...I'll think of something. :) Thank you for a beautiful story, darling. :) |
darkaccalia520 chapter 7 . 5/10/2012 Wow! This was awesome! Admittedly, I would have liked something a little longer, but I know this was in your shorter chapter days. I'm glad you've changed. But, anyway, I really liked the flashback and how it was a different generation of the Doctor then. Ruby really scares me, but I think that's the point. Woo! So glad Sarah is alright now. And, I loved the last line. I want you to write another Doctor/Sarah Jane story. Of course, you have to finish Ghost Map and get on to that new sQ story first, but I'm really enjoying this too. Anyway, I knew you wouldn't kill her, but still... Anyway, thanks for making me guess just a little. And, thanks again for a lovely story. :) |
darkaccalia520 chapter 6 . 5/2/2012 Oh, wow! Go, Doctor, go! Go, Doctor, go! This was a really interesting twist, one I didn't quite expect. Admittedly, I'm not sure if the other characters are canon or not since I'm unfamiliar with them, but I find this whole revenge for the master thing to be an awesome addition to the story. Certainly, how awful for Sarah, but I'm guessing everything will turn out alright since I can't see you letting her die. I can't wait to see how this all turns out. :) |
darkaccalia520 chapter 5 . 4/21/2012 :O I am shocked, but it's a good shocked because your storyline for this is awesome. I know it's an older story, you mentioned, but I still find the storyline intriguing. I am very worried about Sarah's condition, and I hope the Doctor can figure out what is going on with this virus. And, how strange it's only from that one planet. Why would they target Sarah Jane? Maybe I'm not familiar enough with the fandom to know... But, I am definitely looking forward to more. Well done, my darling. :) |
