I can totally see Sev refusing to tell Lily at first, I think it really embarrassed him. And I'd guess that after making that promise to her, he'd just be careful to avoid letting her see his bruises anymore.

I like the way you wrote them both, but your writing of Sev in particular astounds me. It's really fantastic!
