  Ileatrekkie chapter 1 . 10/7/2019 So, just read this, and it’s good, a lot of potential esp in the beginning, but I think you should work on showing more instead of just telling. A lot of it felt like a prologue or epilogue. As an example, show at least one nightmare(believe it or not, nightmares can be fun to write, as anything can happen in them, and the goal, at least for me, is to freak out readers). One more thing, the footnotes, while a nice attempt to provide background info, took me out of the story too much. What i’ve noticed most people do is put notes at the end of chapters in a different style than the main text to tell them apart, and they don’t have the distracting numbers in the paragraphs. I hope this was helpful even tho this was written 8 years ago. |
