I love the story, it's very sweet. But I feel the need to tell you that because a babies motor skills develop quicker in the first years of life than verbal skills, a baby can and will learn to sign much earlier than they could learn to speak. It would be clumbsy and hard to understand, just like their first spoken words would be, only about 3 or 4 months earlier, around 8-9 months, but that's a guesstimate. With as much as Emmett and Bay sign, she would have been signing long before 2 years.

Wow, that was so sweet! Although I have one question: did they ever tell her that Emmet wasn't her real father? Or did they hide it? I think they would have said something (with Bay not knowing she was in the wrong family for 16 years) but you didn't right anything...
