With all the free time I’ve had recently due to quarantine, I cracked open my old account and found this story again! I always wish it would be finished, but I’m glad I got to enjoy what’s here again.

A cliffhanger indeed. I wish you'd gotten to show the meeting with Dumbledore, but it looks like life happened and this story is in limbo. I still lost sleep reading it, so well done!

Of course Severus Snape will face his demons by facing Dumbledore. One thing he never was was a coward.
On a lighter note, I only realized that your section divider, sdrawkcab, was backwards in reverse a couple of chapters ago!

The only real flaw in this chapter is that I'm not sure who stupefied Dumbledore. My first thought was actually Severus! Probably it was Harry, but the Headmistress was there, too, and clearly not happy with her old boss.

I don't know. Sirius and Severus were granted a second childhood and a chance to make a better life and better choices. Maybe that's a part of the afterlife, linked to karmic judgment or something. If that's so, it reads like Dumbledore got kicked out and forced to face those he's hurt in a last ditch effort to get through his belief in his own righteousness. Lily, who was certainly among his victims (especially if she and her family were deemed expendable if it brought Severus to spy for the cause) might function as either a prosecutor. Total guesswork, of course. And at least Lily warned him that her daughter in law is the most dangerous person in that house.

I want to believe Sirius isn't inherently awful, and he is just a boy, so my guess is jealousy. They've had to be attentive to Severus, who's struggling more with his past memories, and Sirius doesn't want to share his new family. And he does have at least vague memories of hating Severus so it's easier to resent him. Plus he always did have trouble knowing when he's crossed a line (like using his friend the werewolf to scare, and potentially curse or murder, someone he didn't like).

I have to say, I haven't been bothered yet by all the sweetness and light. Severus needs it! Charming story so far.

This is a great story. It needs finishing. just 1 or 2 more chapters to tie up loose ends.
