Reviews for The Man in Grey
ChocoBetty chapter 50 . 7/6
Just wanted to let you know I did a reread during this pandemic. Started in late March and took my time but got finally through it. I think it was the third time I read "The Man in Grey". Some people think you only need to read a story or book once. I enjoy revisiting the ones I like and discovering new aspects of the story. I discovered this time that in a way I like the consistency Ianto likes in this story. I'm more flexible than him but I enjoy my pizza Wednesdays, for example, or to read stories again because they don't change. Although with some I hope they do change. Or parts of it change. Anyway, thanks for sharing this and I hope you stay safe and healthy!

Such a beautiful wedding.
SuziH-J chapter 41 . 7/2/2018
Such a beautifully written chapter. I’m crying now, tears of happiness though that Jack & Ianto have truly found each other. And tears for myself as well.
Rereading this story has brought some things in my past to the front of my mind. I realise now that I never quite forgave myself for something that I could not control. There was no way for me to prevent what happened, & while I forgave other people for their role I still held on to my belief that I could have done something different. Oh for a time machine. Whilst I know there were many other factors that led to my suffering depression this event was a major one that the others then built upon. I now have to forgive myself & whilst this is not the magic bullet to cure my depression, maybe it will help ease the downward spiral I feel myself in at the moment.
Thank you evalentine, even though you may not read this review due to the passage of time since you wrote this story, there was obviously a reason I felt compelled to read it again. My tears have not only been for Jack & Ianto, but also for myself. It has been a cathartic experience reading this & writing this review, & I’m sure it can only help me on my continuing journey.
SuziH-J chapter 18 . 7/2/2018
How wonderful was that, everyone rallying around Ianto & getting rid of that pompous woman & her vile children. And Morag is an angel realising what Ianto’s problem is. Loved it when he told Jack that the tuna sandwich was nasty, now he will be able to try foods that will be better for him. And I’m sure that marigold is in pig heaven eating all the nasties.
SuziH-J chapter 16 . 7/2/2018
I can relate to this chapter, being so angry you want to smash something.
Once destroyed half of a dinner set (it was a cheap one) due to being so angry at someone. Did it when I was on my own & smashed them into a bin. Felt so good once I finished & then went & bought a nicer one.
SuziH-J chapter 14 . 7/1/2018
Love how Mac and Ianto become friends over their mutual love of motorbikes.
SuziH-J chapter 10 . 7/1/2018
I think we could all do with a chance to scream into the wind like Ianto did here. I would love to do it as RL is a bitch at the moment. This is probably why my depression feels worse. Probably not a good time to read this story, but as I said previously I’ve really felt drawn to it. (And knowing how it turns out probably helps).
I like the way you have written Ianto’s character in this as you treated him with respect.
SuziH-J chapter 6 . 7/1/2018
For some reason I have felt drawn back to this story over the last few days & started reading it again tonight. I feel it is affecting me more this time as I have already shed tears about how Ianto was treated. (Although I have been feeling particularly blue these last couple of weeks)

I had a wonderful time revisiting this story. Thanks so much for the time and energy you put into this. Have a great day!
Guest chapter 11 . 5/24/2017
I love the last sentence of this chapter. It's definitely an interesting impulse for Jack to have...and made me ask lots of questions. (Only humanoids? If not, John Hart and the poodle, do make much more sense).
SuziH-J chapter 50 . 11/2/2016
Started this story earlier today & just had to read it right through to see what happened to Jack & Ianto. Thank you for writing such a beautiful & at times heart wrenching story about boys. At different stages it made me laugh & cry, & I guess the tears flowing now would be classed as happy ones. I have read a few of your stories and look forward to reading the rest.
Thanks once again for being one of the many wonderful people who continue to write wonderful stories about Jack, Ianto, Tosh, Owen, Gwen & Rhys.

Like life's best things, This story has improved with age. I don't remember when I first read it, but re-reading it this weekend has been a treat. What a wonderful world you've created for the boys and the rest of t3. I'm so glad they got to be happy, have families, and enjoy the world they saved every day. Thanks so very much!
