daughterofthechief chapter 1 . 4/17/2018 Agh this is such an amazing ff-a really well written oneshot and one of the best I’ve come across on this site. I especially like the way you've written the relationship between Feanor and Nerdanel; I adore them both so much as characters and this genuinely makes my heart break for her. I love Feanor most of all though-maybe you could write a full length story about these two? I would most definitely read it if you did- there are not enough Silm ff of this kind of caliber. I know its been a really long time since you’ve updated and probably won’t see this but if you do, please update-you have such talent and it would be a shame not to continue. Pplz plz update xxx |
Killingmemory chapter 1 . 1/9/2013 You never write anything that isn't wonderful, and this is no exception. You have a true gift when it comes to capturing emotions, and you really manage to humanize Feanor (if that's the correct word), as few authors manage to do. Also, I enjoyed your portrayal of Nerdanel, an often overlooked character whom you managed to put on my radar. Your writing itself is stunning, of course. Faved-thanks for sharing. |
Hellga chapter 1 . 12/6/2012 That's a sad fate - to be forever tied together and yet forever sundered. Poor Nerdanel... Feanor at least blazed (pardon the pun) his own path, but she could only choose from a couple really unpalatable options. |
The Hobbit's Rhapsody chapter 1 . 6/16/2012 I’m not usually one for M-rated fics, but this was beautiful. You characterized and humanized them both so well. I feel like a lot of fans don’t try to bridge the gap that grows between Fëanor and Nerdanel because of the Oath and forget that they were married for centuries—very passionately, if their record seven sons are any testimony to it. Their convictions keep them separate, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt them deeply. I love the way you did this, and I very much like your style of writing as well. Brava. |
Professor A. Silvertree chapter 1 . 11/14/2011 You have shown the sorrow of it quite well. And also brought out the love of these two. It's something that others belittle so much, because they are not together in the end, because their story ends in sadness and loss. You really wrote it well and gave it the respect I think it deserved. |
Sereq ieh Dashret chapter 1 . 10/4/2011 Your fics are always the best. |
vapanalley chapter 1 . 8/8/2011 D: WHAT IS THIS PAIN IN MY HEART. Oh, right. That's me being sad and heartbroken because there's something so hard to understand about two stubborn people who believe they are right and the other is wrong, but still love each other regardless and who /still/ do what they think they must. I'm not saying that any of either were right or wrong, but you caught that dynamic of who is who and made it something beautiful and sad, and honestly, I've been wondering about these parting moments ever since I finished the Silmarillion. The book definitely an epic as epics go, but this is just the tiny slice of life and loss that becomes lost in an epic tale of adventure and revenge and love. Just life and loss. It's lovely. |
Darkover chapter 1 . 8/8/2011 Dear Min Daae: This is a well-written story, and a sad one. "It's not about power," is an excellent line. If Feanor had not been so proud, so power-obsessed and possessive, the history of the Eldar and of Arda would have been very different, and a lot better. Nerdanel understood that, not that her understanding does her much good. Thanks for writing and posting this. Sincerely, Darkover |
