This reminded me. Pretty sure Dumbledore wanted that contract's wording so he can study a way to get around it and force them to compete. And like an idiot Harry gave it to him. That's the only reason I can imagine Harry told him about the boycott whatsoever. There's no real reason to.

So Hermione shares his map secret with two people without even asking him. Real good "friend" there.
Also, Harry and the champions are supposed to be exempt from tests this year. Idea being preparing and doing tasks leaves little time for exams. While it only mentions end of year exams, that's also all there was. No midterms. So not sure where the end of this chapter came from.

I've never liked Ron eitherthem being friends never made sense. From the very getgo Ron was a fanboy: You're Harry Potter?! So you've got the scar?
The very thing he hates orhers doing is how his "best mate" started off. And then Ron fucks up as many times as possible, surviving in friendship solely because Harry hands out as many second chances and Dumbledore does. Harry never asks Ron to change, so he never does.
Not to mention Ron actively attempts to make Harry learn as little magic as possible, because he is so damned lazy.
