This Luffy talks a lot more and is more careful of his words. I have to wonder if his 5 year old self had to talk a lot more and be more fluid to get a response out of a very abused Dawn those first few years. As conditioned as she was to never ask questions or make comments it would be no wonder.

So, two different protagonists grew up together and fell in love. I would say for either world this pair is overkill haha

I have this image in my head, a what - if scenario of Voldemort possessing Dawn via horrocrux and he almost killing Luffy with a near miss killing curse. The complete breakdown and fear of her own body and mind would likely drive her away and in turn make the captain and crew very very angry.

Wow Dawn is OP here in the sense that she can cause long lasting damage to the world government. If she's not careful Luffy will pout because her bounty surpasses his.

Woah, that's a first. Luffy being a romantic? Or maybe not quite but he has always been super intuitive and probably felt someone as disenchanted with people as Dawn needed a promise like that to truly trust. It's not like she would have ever turned her back on him or stopped being his friend but it's obvious Dawn is loyal to a fault, even to people that by all rights should be her enemies. Hope is harder for her to give than unyielding loyalty after all.

On the other hand I like this new twist, even if it's very somber for a One Piece beginning. I hope Dawn can smile and laugh a lot more carefree and grow into herself before she has to face the whole Horrocrux clusterfeck.

Still can't get over a romantic and in love Luffy...

I have no idea why she returned to the Dursleys the first time, it baffles me. But I guess abused children feel a natural inclination to hide their traumas even if it means going back to those places.

lmao luffy is so out of character in the "reunited scene" he wouldn't walk over to his friend that he hasn't seen in years and whip some flirty nickname from his a hole and start roleplaying wtf. He'd just launch himself across the room like the rubber band he is and cause a scene and even more property damage lol. I legit thought you switched perspectives mid sentence from luffy to sanji, not every male turns into a suave romantic when they like a person,,, they tend to remain normal?

... The fuck. Well this is definitely an OC-in-Luffy-clothing. Theres no way in hell Luffy would be interested in love before adventure. If he gets married its definitely gonna at least be after he becomes Pirate King.
