I found several f-words in this chapter! Five. Flight. Falling. Few. Forget. Forgiveness. Fun. First. Friends. Force. Fire Nation. Families. Fit. Fight. Fruit. Fountains. Free. Flakes. Favorite. Future. Fast. Fabulous. Final. Fic. Foot. Famine. I bet that wasn't even all of them, not even counting multiples of the same word (and counting forgive/forgiven/forgiving all under "forgiveness").
It's not until you start counting that you realize how many words start with F.

Avatar or not, it's not up to anyone to decide someone else's life for them. (Unless you're their parent/guardian, in which case you can for a certain amount of time, but I digress.) Aang does not have the right to say that Katara needs to forgive her mother's killer without ever facing him, ESPECIALLY not when he hasn't practiced forgiving people when it's hard. (He forgives a lot, but, like, only when it's easy. Like, forgiving Katara for wanting to take revenge. WHAT.

Part of the reason I now ship Zutara. Zuko understands- and he had his own moment, when he could have killed the man who destroyed his life (and as far as he knows killed his mother), and chose to walk away. But for both Zuko and Katara, it's important that it was their choice to not take revenge, not something someone else decided for them. Yes, revenge never really helps, but I think maybe sometimes, the opportunity to take revenge is what helps. Especially if you end up choosing Not Revenge.

Aanglee would be friggin' ADORABLE AND PERFECT AND oh my word that would be a lot of cheerful. Sokka would never be able to visit them.

I think the name "Gloomy Hairbuns" is ridiculously hilarious, and I very much enjoy your reasoning.

Also, yeah, the 'girl as prize thing.' My first time watching, I didn't notice anything weird about Kataang, because I was about 8. Recently rewatched it, and there are so many flags. The girl as a prize. The non-consensual kissing that was never discussed. (Tbh, if I liked a guy and he kissed me on the mouth without asking, I think that would end my crush. It's never happened, but I would not be OK with that! I can't see Katara being ok with it- and she wasn't in EIP! So why did she just forget about that later? (Rhetorical question.)) The part where Katara literally says Aang is like a brother to her. Pretty sure there's more, not even counting the Zutara teasing, but I'm too tired to list them all rn.

The moment when Katara started to refer to Zuko as 'my Subject', ah delicious! She's so relatable in her worries. I'm a bit of worrier myself when it comes to uncertainty. I also like how much she's in denial that she'd grown fond of her Subject.

It's amazing how you write Katara. The emotions, her way of thinking, the way she sees the world and people around her are all there, but in a form of stalking reports. And honestly, said reports are so insightful in all things Katara. LOVE IT!
